A $10 million bra worn by Candice Swanepoel set a new standard for the most expensive item of women’s lingerie.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , a million dollar swimsuit by YamamaY was worn by Maria Gabriela Isler for one of her first duties as Miss Universe 2013 .
Candice Swanepoel took to the Victoria’s Secret catwalk wearing the $10 million bra. The “Crown Jewels” Royal Fantasy bra was set in 18-cart gold and had 4,200 precious gems embedded in its lining, including one giant pear-shaped ruby measuring 52 carats. Amazingly, even though the designer has built seven of these expensive bras no one has actually bought any of them. Models even describe wearing it as heavy and uncomfortable .
But Candice Swanepoel is not the first to model the famous Royal Fantasy bra. Candice is just following in the footsteps of Allesandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Tyra Banks, Gisele Bunchen, Heidi Klum, and Claudia Schiffer.
Even so, wearing the $10 million bra still affected Candice Swanepoel :
“Everyone asks what it’s like to wear $10 million dollars. It does make me pose a little better…. I just try to relax and enjoy it. I don’t do anything crazy the 24 hours leading up to the show because by now it won’t really make a difference. I just do what I’ve been doing.”
But you might shocked to hear that it’s not even the world’s most expensive piece of women’s clothing. The $1 million dollar swimsuit worn by Miss Universe 2013 featured jewels to make it so expensive, but the $30 million dollar bikini was made entirely of diamonds and platinum.
Strangely enough, the more expensive the women’s clothing, the less it seems to cover. Although, you could argue that’s normal for women’s undergarments and swimwear.
So after writing about the $10 million bra, I had to wonder what the world’s most expensive men’s clothing could be. I honestly had zero luck searching, and the $2 million suit for NASA doesn’t count . Nor does President Obama’s trillion dollar jock strap . So sad. Women may like Candice Swanepoel’s fantasy bra, but they don’t have anything to ogle in return…
