Caitlyn Jenner spent the weekend in New York City filming a segment for her upcoming reality show, I Am Cait . The former Olympian celebrated at a Pride event in NYC, and was the center of attention when she arrived at Dream Downtown Hotel’s PH-D lounge on Sunday.
According to the New York Daily News , Jenner arrived at the event with six friends. A film crew was there to tape the celebration for her new show that premieres July 26 on E!. Caitlyn looked happier than ever to be out in public celebrating Pride with millions of others.
“She was the center of attention as people waved at her and screamed her name. She was really appreciative and loved how excited everyone was.”
Photos shared on Twitter showed a smiling Caitlyn sporting pink nails and wearing a white skirt and matching top. At the event, she watched Candis Cayne’s DayDream show in the hotel’s rooftop lounge and was spotted taking selfies during the event.
Two promos have been released for the upcoming I Am Cait docuseries that will give viewers a look at her life after transitioning from Bruce to Caitlyn. In her most recent promo , she states that she’s doing the series to “tell her story” and give viewers a better understand of why she decided to make the change.
“Why did I decide to do a series? I am telling my story. People don’t understand looking in the mirror and nothing seems right. This is about getting to be who you really are.”
In April, millions watched Diane Sawyer interview Bruce Jenner before his transition to a woman. Caitlyn received an outpouring of support from family, friends, fans, and celebrities.
The world’s first look at Caitlyn Jenner post-transition was several weeks ago when her Vanity Fair cover was released online. The Call Me Caitlyn issue contains a number of photos of Jenner along with author Buzz Bissinger’s 20-plus page interview about Caitlyn’s transformation into a woman.
Caitlyn Jenner’s new reality show will be filmed at various events, like Sunday’s event in NYC, and in her new $3.5 million Malibu home , where she has been hosting parties for her girlfriends long before cameras started rolling. According to Vanity Fair , she held parties there before her transition so she could “dress as desired” with her friends in the privacy of her own home.
Tune in to watch the I Am Cait premiere on July 26 p.m. ET on E!
