Ed Sheeran has a secret girlfriend. That seems to be the only thing news outlets agree on when it comes to Sheeran’s love life.
Most recently, several international publications report that Sheeran is dating a long-time friend and Irish model Louise Johnston. A source told the Irish Mirror as follows.
“Louise and Ed have been friends for years but now they have become a lot closer. They are constantly in touch, even when he is on tour, but he is coming here soon for a gig in Dublin and they will be able to catch up then. Friends and family now know, so it is out there. Louise really cares about him and it’s going very well.”
At the same time that sources reported a relationship between Sheeran and Johnston, other publications reported that something was heating up between Sheeran and singer-actress Selena Gomez. According to Hollywood Life , for example, Sheeran and Gomez were spotted together on June 25 at a party before they eventually left together.
Rumors of a relationship between Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez have been circulating for more than two years, according to earlier Inquisitr reports. It’s possible that Sheeran and Gomez are simply friends, of course, as both singers are also very good friends with Taylor Swift. They’ve obviously run in the same circles for quite some time. In addition, Gomez has recently been linked to Cody Simpson, though both have said they’re just friends.
Recent reports from the Irish Mirror seem to lend credibility to the idea that Ed Sheeran and Gomez are simply friends. In fact, the publication indicated that Sheeran is “head over heels in love” and “smitten” with Louise Johnston.
The news outlet indicated that Sheeran and Johnston have known each other for a long time. In addition, the fact that Johnston isn’t a celebrity of, say, Gomez or Swift’s stature has helped the relationship to grow.
“The fact Louise isn’t a big star is helping things move along nicely. She is different to some of the girls he has been linked to. She’s known Ed since long before he was selling out stadiums and their friendship has built up over the years, so it’s not as if Louise is a starry-eyed girl.”
Currently, Johnston is a brand ambassador for an Irish website, according to the Mirror .
Ed Sheeran was most recently dating to Athina Andrelos, whom he split with in March. Ellie Goulding and Ed Sheeran have also been linked romantically in the past.
