The Brooke Mueller reha b situation finally demanded an official statement from Steve Honig, the rep for the barely working actress and the mother of Charlie Sheen’s twin boys. Honig disputed accounts that she was being held against her will.
According to the rep’s statement, Mueller voluntarily checked into the UCLA Medical Center on Friday, May 3. In a brief comment to entertainment site WENN, Honig said:
“Brooke will be there for several more days, and will likely transition directly into a residential treatment facility to get help for prescription drug abuse. Brooke misses her children, and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom.”
Multiple previous reports said that Brooke Mueller had been placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold after a multiple day drug spree. On Thursday, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) served a warrant on her home, allowing them to take away her 4-year-old twin boys.
Denise Richards, another ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and the mother of his two daughters, has temporary custody of the boys . The generous mother of three also took them in December, during one of Mueller’s previous stints in rehab. Charlie Sheen’s spokesman Larry Solter stepped forward earlier to say that Sheen is satisfied that Richards will provide a loving home for his children.
Sheen and Mueller battled, sometimes physically, over custody of the twins during their bitter divorce. Apparently, Sheen can’t take the boys himself without an official court order.
However, Sheen’s relationship with Richards is much friendlier. The 42-year-old former Bond girl recently appeared in a cameo in Sheen’s FX television show Anger Management.
A veteran of multiple treatments for drug abuse and addiction, it’s reportedly Brooke Mueller’s 20th rehab try.
