Beyonce might team with Coldplay and Rihanna to make Super Bowl 50 epic. Although Coldplay landed the coveted halftime show spot, rumor has it they’ve called on Beyonce to join them during the 12-minute concert in February that’s expected to be watched by over 115 million people.
According to the Mirror , Beyonce and Rihanna are in “advanced talks” with Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin to appear at the February 7 Super Bowl halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It will not be the first time Coldplay has teamed with other artists, and Jay-Z, who is married to Beyonce, and Rihanna appeared with the Brit band during the closing ceremonies on day 11 of the Paralympic Games at Olympic Stadium in London on September 9, 2012.

Coldplay’s Super Bowl performance will support their new album, A Head Full Of Dreams , and it’s well known that any artist, including Beyonce, that performs on the iconic Super Bowl stage will see an uptick in their sales. Beyonce collaborated with Coldplay on not just one, but two songs on A Head Full Of Dreams; “Hymn For The Weekend” and “Up & Up.”
Given her history with the band, and that the two songs are major singles on A Head Full Of Dreams , there’s plenty of evidence Beyonce will appear to perform her part to support album sales. According to Billboard, Beyonce also has an endorsement deal with Pepsi , a major Super Bowl sponsor, adding further fuel to the rumor that Beyonce herself will make an appearance.
A Head Full Of Dreams also features guest appearances by Rihanna, Avicii, Noel Gallagher, Brian Eno, and none other than Gwyneth Paltrow, so fans are speculating any of these super celebrities might show up as well. Given that this Super Bowl marks the historic 50th anniversary of the iconic game, fans are expecting an epic halftime show, so really, anything can happen.

Rihanna is rumored to duet with Chris on the song “Princess of China,” which is a UK top five hit for the band as well as a Top 20 hit in the United States. Although nothing has been confirmed about a Beyonce appearance yet, if she does sing, it will likely be on “Hymn For The Weekend” or “Up & Up.”
A Super Bowl insider revealed to the Mirror that unlike Beyonce, “Chris and his band know they’re not typically as showy as recent performers like Katy Perry and Madonna with all the dancers,” and although a light show might not be in the works, the rockers “still want to bring a few surprises out.” And a performance by Beyonce certainly would be an epic surprise!
The insider also said, “Beyonce and Rihanna are both keen to join in the high-profile ceremony,” adding that appearances by both women “will add just the spark needed to make it an amazing and unforgettable show.”

Even show director Hamish Hamilton has hinted that Beyonce might show up , telling the Mirror “I think Coldplay themselves are going to surprise a lot of people,” adding that the band writes “great music” and are “great performers. They’re great individuals. They’re a great band.”
Hamilton also noted that Coldplay “and their energy and their positivity will surprise a lot of people in a very positive way,” which is possibly another allusion to a Beyonce performance.
Super Bowl 50 will not be the first time Beyonce has performed at a Super Bowl halftime show. In 2013, Beyonce graced the iconic football game with her presence, where she performed “Crazy In Love” and “Love On Top.” At the time, Beyonce also performed “Single Ladies” and an emotional “Halo.”
Their Superbowl 50 appearance marks the beginning of the Coldplay farewell tour, although specific dates for the final run of the band have not been released.
