Bethenny Frankel has confirmed she will not be returning to Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City .
Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported Frankel would be seen on the reality series’ upcoming seventh season. The magazine claimed producers were bringing her back in an effort to reboot the show’s dwindling ratings. “Bringing her back is a last-ditch effort,” a source said.
However, according to Bethenny Frankel, there have been no discussions of her returning to the show. In an Oct. 3 interview with Wetpaint Entertainment , Frankel gave a simple, “No,” when asked about the recent rumors.
“Andy [Cohen] and I are talking about a few projects right now, but as far as returning to Real Housewives, no. That’s not something we’ve discussed,” Frankel said during New Balance’s Girls’ Night Out event in New York.
Bethenny Frankel was cast as one of the original stars of The Real Housewives of New York City in 2008. After leaving the show after its third season, Frankel, along with husband Jason Hoppy, went on to star in their own spinoff, Bethenny Getting Married . Following their wedding, the series was renamed Bethenny Ever After , and aired for two more seasons. One year after the series wrapped, Frankel took a shot at hosting on her own FOX talk show, Bethenny . Bethenny aired for one season before being canceled in Feb. 2013 due to low ratings.
Bethenny Frankel’s denial of the rumors came just days after she appeared to confirm her return. “I’d have to be crazy,” she said during an appearance on Access Hollywood Live , then noting, “I am crazy.”
Us Weekly also claimed Jill Zarin was in talks to return to The Real Housewives of New York City . Zarin “might come back to rehash their issues,” an insider told the magazine. “But so far it’s just talk.”
Although Bethenny Frankel may not be headed back to The Real Housewives of New York City , she is keeping in touch with her co-stars, Ramona Singer specifically.
“Ramona has called me a couple of times and we discussed what’s going on in her life and a little bit of mine. And she came on my show. And it’s good, it’s different,” Frankel said. “When you’re doing a show like that, doing the Housewives, you’re in a bubble. And drama seems so important. And you’re talking about things that you would never normally talk about and reacting in a way you wouldn’t normally react.”
