The rumors that Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is dating Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet are apparently false. Frankel referenced the rumors on Twitter after reports that the two were spotted together.
“Wow #somanyboyfriendssolittletime How did I manage to be at a @Dodgers game & be in the Hamptons at the same time?!!! @ericstonestreet,” Frankel wrote, making reference to an article posted by E! Online about her relationship with Stonestreet.
Frankel wasn’t alone in publicly addressing the rumors that the Modern Family star was her new boyfriend. Stonestreet also took to Twitter and posted a sarcastic message to Frankel. “Hey @Bethenny. Im a big fan. Can I get a follow?” he wrote.
Despite the two downplaying their relationship with each other, it is clear that they are at the very least good friends. In fact, an inside source recently told People that the two met at a party back in April.
“They are talking and they have been friends since they met at a CAA upfront party in April. He is in L.A. and she is in the Hamptons,” the source stated in regards to how Frankel and Stonestreet first met.
The source added that the pair hang out and that they enjoy the time they spend together. “They are hanging out. They are having fun and she likes his company,” the source explained.
The news that the two may be starting a relationship doesn’t come as a big surprise, given that both stars are single. Frankel went through a divorce with her now ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, back in 2012. The two had been married for two years and had one child together, daughter Bryn (5).
Speaking to People about her former marriage , Frankel admitted that she had a feeling it wouldn’t last very long. “I think my instinct and gut going into my marriage [knew] it would turn out the way it did,” she explained in a June interview. “I could feel it, but I intellectualized it. People are always talking about ‘Do I go with my head or my heart?’ Go with your gut.”
Although it may seem as though Stonestreet and Frankel are slowly starting a relationship, another insider told Us Magazine that the two are only friends.
“This is so dumb. They are friends and have a lot of mutual friends in the same circle… They definitely are fond of each other and like each other but it’s not serious.”
