The Bella Twins Say Goodbye to WWE, Embrace New Chapter with Birth Names on Instagram
The Bella Twins, Nikki and Brie, have announced a massive career change in their lives. On March 14, the sisters shared that they are leaving WWE and dropping their stage names, marking a new chapter in their lives. The twins will now go by their birth names, Nikki Garcia and Brie Garcia, and they are calling themselves the Garcia Twins. The announcement was made on their SiriusXM podcast, The Nikki and Brie Show, where they explained their decision to part ways with WWE. "When our contract came up with WWE, mutually we all knew we just needed to head into this new chapter," Nikki shared during the episode, as reported by E!News. According to Sportskeeda, the twins have also gone ahead and changed their Instagram last names from Bella to Garcia.
The decision to leave WWE is a significant change for the twins, who have been a part of the wrestling entertainment company since 2007. During their time with WWE, the sisters won several championships and were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020. However, as they approach their 40th birthdays, Nikki and Brie felt it was time to embrace a different side of their lives. "I just want to thank Brie Bella – Brie Bella the character, the name, all of it that I have been the last 16, 17 years," Brie said on the podcast. "I am so excited to close that chapter on Brie Bella, put that book to the side, and open up a new one – and see what Brie Garcia is gonna do next."
Nikki echoed her sister's sentiments and expressed her gratitude for her stage name, Nikki Bella. "She empowered me, she inspired me, she truly made me become fearless," Nikki shared. "And the road that she has paved and what she's done for women and the youth – and will continue to do – just as Nikki Garcia."
The Bella Twins have become household names over the years, not just in the wrestling world but also through their reality TV shows. They first appeared on the E! reality series Total Divas, and then went on to star in their own spin-off, Total Bellas. The shows gave fans an inside look at their personal and professional lives, including their relationships with their significant others and their journeys to motherhood. Now, as mothers to young children, the sisters are ready to focus on their family lives and pursue other ventures. Brie is married to fellow wrestler, Daniel Bryan, and they have two children together, Birdie and Buddy. Nikki is married to dancer and choreographer, Artem Chigvintsev, and they have one son, Matteo.
In addition to being mothers, the sisters are also entrepreneurs and have several business ventures. They run a clothing line called Birdiebee and have their own wine label, Belle Radici. They have also hosted several TV shows and events, including the Teen Choice Awards and the ESPY Awards.
The Garcia Twins have already begun their new chapter, and they plan to continue to inspire and empower women through their various endeavors. "We're mothers, we're entrepreneurs, we're executive producers, we're hosting shows," Nikki said on the podcast. "We want to show women out there that you can have it all, and you can do it all." The announcement of the twins leaving WWE and dropping their stage names has caused a stir among fans and the wrestling community. However, it is clear that the Garcia Twins are excited about their new chapter and ready to take on new challenges.
