Casting news continue to trickle in (very slowly) regarding Zack Snyder’s untitled Batman vs Superman movie and on Thursday, the report that Ray Fisher will be portraying Cyborg was announced by Variety .
The DC Comics website describes Cyborg — who made its first appearance in 1980 — the following way:
“Nowadays, everyone’s juggling an offline and online persona. But only one hero is a literal marriage of technology and man. Half human, half machine, Victor Stone is Cyborg, a digital and physical tank—and a true superhero for the modern age.”

Ray Fisher comes fresh from his performance as Muhammad Ali in the play, Fetch Clay, Make Man and he is expected to play Cyborg’s human version, Victor Stone in Batman vs Superman . Some are speculating that this will be the character’s introduction in Justice League , the much talked about DC Comics flick where all the superheroes battle the forces of evil.
Before the latest casting news, there was talk that Dwayne Johnson could be cast as Cyborg, after it was revealed that he has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to appear as a DC Comics character in the future.
The bad news is that there is no official word from DC Entertainment as far as casting for the Batman vs Superman movie, the good news is that principal production is expected to get underway next month in Detroit and many cast and crew have been spotted in the Midwest in recent weeks, including Henry Cavill , who will reprise his role as Superman from Man Of Steel and was seen in Chicago on Easter weekend.

Back in December of 2013 Henry expressed his thoughts on having Cyborg be a part of Batman vs Superman and was definitely on to something:
“What really intrigued me was Dr. Hamilton’s connection to S.T.A.R. labs, Cyborg I think would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both superhumans and humanity in a different way than Batman. So I don’t know where he is going to come in or if he’s going to come in, but, that’s one I’m particularly excited about.”
Even though Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed Ray Fisher’s casting , most entertainment sites realize that Variety has excellent sources and an official announcement should come in the next few weeks along with additional casting news.
