It took eight years but Barry Bonds has finally been found guilty of obstructing justice stemming from the federal government’s 2003 steroid investigation.
Sentencing has not yet occurred, however when it does Bonds could face up to a maximum of 1o years in a federal prison.
Federal prosecutors could also choose to re-file charges against Bonds after the original case ended in deadlocked charges.
It will be interesting to see how this case and future cases against Bonds affect his chances of entering the baseball hall of fame. Bonds is the leagues overall homerun leader, a record he broke while undergoing investigation by the Federal Government.
