Bachelorette star Desiree Hartsock married Chris Siegfried this past weekend, and now new details about their big day are emerging. Desiree designed her wedding gown and now fans can get their first peek at the dress and find out other fun tidbits about the day.
Desiree and Chris’ wedding is on the cover of the Us Weekly edition out this week. As E! Online notes, Hartsock and Siegfried became husband and wife during a Palos Verdes, California ceremony on Sunday, January 18.
The Bachelorette star’s wedding gown was a fit and flare dress that had ivory lace over blush tulle. Desiree designed a second gown for her reception, and that one was a silver-beaded chiffon sheath. Hartsock wore Badgley Mischka heels and jewelry from the line she designed, Desiree for KV Bijou. Des and Chris are on the cover of Us Weekly smiling in their wedding attire and fans can’t wait to see more.
The bride says that she wanted her dresses to be dramatic and she feels she definitely accomplished that with her first look. She adds that as she designed, she focused on imagining what she would look like when she saw Chris as she walked down the aisle.
There were quite a few familiar faces at this Bachelorette wedding. Daniella McBride, from Desiree’s Bachelor season with Sean Lowe, was a bridesmaid. Attendees included Jason and Molly Mesnick, Ali Fedotowsky, Brooks Forester, Zak Waddell and Michael Garofola. Tasos Hernandez, from Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette along with Season 1 of Bachelor in Paradise , was the DJ for the big event.
Matt White surprised Desiree with a live performance of “Love and Affection” for the couple’s first dance. Chris shares that he contacted Matt via Twitter and got it all arranged, and she says that it was very special. The reception took place at the Redondo Beach Historic Library.
What’s next for Desiree and Chris? It sounds as if babies may not be too far down the road. Hartsock says she wants three or four, though Siegfried apparently cautions that perhaps they should wait until they have one before they make plans for many more.
Unfortunately for Bachelorette fans, ABC chose not to televise the wedding. Show host Chris Harrison wrote in his Yahoo! TV blog that a deal nearly came together for a televised special, but things just didn’t work out in the end. Harrison says that the lack of a deal was not a sign of disrespect for Desiree and Chris. He says the couple is much beloved by all in the franchise and they are thrilled the two made it down the aisle.
Congratulations to Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried on their wedding. Bachelorette fans are anxious to see pictures from the big day, and many are hoping that Chris Soules will be headed down the aisle too, given his proclamations that he’s in love after his Bachelor journey as well.
