‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Filmed At Playa Escondida Resort: ‘It Was Disgusting… Bugs Everywhere’

The Bachelor in Paradise 2015 cast were given a free trip to Mexico to film the second season of the summer reality show, but their accommodations at the Playa Escondida Resort are nothing like the swanky resort host where host Chris Harrison has been staying.

Reality Steve previously reported that the cast and crew were filming at the luxurious Grand Mayan Resort in Nuevo Vallarta, but his most recent spoilers indicate that only Harrison and the crew stayed at the resort.

The cast was shipped off to a more budget-minded resort in Sayulita, one that doesn’t appear to be much of an upgrade from last season’s filming location in Tulum. The first season of the Bachelor spinoff was filmed at the Casa Palapas Resort , a getaway that was described by some cast members as “a dump” where “roaches and scorpions ran rampant.”

Although the cast members have yet to speak out about their accommodations at the Playa Escondida Resort , there are a number of negative reviews on Trip Advisor that will clue fans in as to what “paradise” was really like for the Jade Roper, Chris Bukowski , Carly Waddell, Jared Haibon, Joe Bailey, Clare Crawley, and the rest of the BIP cast .

“It was incredibly hot and there was a fan over the bed and mosquito net but bugs still got in. Once night fell, there were geckos all over the ceiling, huge blank ants crawling all over the kitchen floor, and bugs everywhere.

“Do not stay at this hotel if you are uncomfortable in the dark or feel unsafe with doors and windows that don’t lock. Don’t forget your flashlight at night.”

Filming got underway in early June and reportedly wraps up this week — will anyone find a love connection in just three short weeks? Expect the Bachelor in Paradise spoilers about hookups and romance to start leaking out soon now that most of the cast is back in the U.S.

Last season, Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul got engaged on the season finale and are currently planning their wedding. Cody Sattler and Michelle Money left the show as a couple, broke up a few months later, and recently started dating again .

Will this season be even crazier than the first? Reality Steve describes it as “a train wreck that we won’t be able to take our eyes off of” — enough said. Tune in to watch the drama unfold on the two-night Bachelor in Paradise premiere, starting August 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
