A baby sloth offered Rachael Hosein a flower during a visit to the Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica. She uploaded a video of the charming gesture to YouTube with a simple comment: “The best day of my life.”
Awwwww. They’re so cute when they’re little. The adorable critters have certainly been winning hearts lately.
Last week, video reporter Niel asked the enduring question: What could be a better Valentine’s Day gift than a bucket of sloths?
In January, Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell was reduced to tears when thoughtful boyfriend Dax Shepard actually arranged for a sloth to appear at her recent birthday party. She told Jarett Wieselman of The Insider , “I’ve been obsessed with sloths for as long as I can remember. They must be my spirit animal.”
A baby sloth? A power animal?
Admittedly, most people tell this writer that their spirit animals are eagles, tigers, jaguars, or at least a house cat with a superior attitude. Patti Wigington, writing the About.com guide for “ Power Animals, Totem Animals and Spirit Animals,” asserted, “No one will ever tell you their ‘totem animal’ is the wombat, the hedgehog, or the three-toed sloth.”
Well, I think Kristin Bell just did. And, if every sloth could stay as cute as the baby sloth in Hosein’s video, the adorable animals would only continue to rise in popularity.
