Ubisoft CEO Yanis Mallat announced that the third patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity was released Wednesday to address issues with performance, gameplay, and menus. He also “sincerely” apologized on the behalf of Ubisoft for the game’s problems.
“These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential,” he explained.
Mallat also revealed that the upcoming Dead Kings DLC will be made free to everyone who purchased Assassin’s Creed: Unity . The add-on will be available to download from the PSN Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and Uplay when it is released as well as via a link in the game.
Additionally, the Season Pass is no longer being sold in the PSN Store, Xbox Store, or Steam. Retailers like Amazon have also stopped selling the Season Pass as well.
If you purchased the Season Pass, you will also receive a free game. The official FAQ reveals the following titles will be available to choose from once Ubisoft has the system in place to give out free games to Assassin’s Creed: Unity Season Pass holders.
- The Crew
- Far Cry 4
- Watch Dogs
- Assassin’s Creed IVL Black Flag
- Rayman Legends
- Just Dance 2015
Those that own the Season Pass will continue to “have access to a variety of additional content” that came with the pass outside of Dead Kings . This includes the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China 2D platformer.
“In the meantime, please keep your feedback coming – it has been both humbling and incredibly helpful as we continue working hard to improve the overall quality of the game. We are hopeful that with these forthcoming updates, everyone will be able to truly enjoy their Assassin’s Creed Unity experience,” Mallat added. “We will continue striving to make Assassin’s Creed one of the most ambitious and innovative franchises on the market, and we thank you for your continued loyalty and support.”
