When amputee Ashley Brady wrote a letter to a neighbor about not parking in a designated spot for her, the disabled woman didn’t expect a nasty note to be left on her car. A post on social media about the rude note on the handicapped woman’s vehicle went viral, and many are up in arms about how anyone could be so toxic to a person with a disability, according to information contained in a WFSB news report.
Brady, 26, of Ohio explained how she was taken aback about an abusive letter left behind when she simply was trying to notify another tenant about her new parking space. Apparently, representatives at the apartment complex in Miamisburg, where Ashley lives, approved a request to park closer due to her risk of falls.

Ashley Brady was involved in horrible accident last year which caused her to lose a limb — her right leg. She endured the agony of surgeries and faced the fact that she would have to learn how to walk again. That was the easy part, so to speak. But the apartment reps stepped in and allowed her to park closer to her front door.
“I struggled a lot across the parking lot with the snow and ice in the parking lot trying to learn how to balance and walk. I fell multiple times.
I finally get my handicapped parking spot last Thursday, and then I come home on Saturday and they’re parking in my parking spot.”
As a heads-up to a driver who had parked in the new spot, she left a note on a person’s car. Apparently, the owner did not have a visible handicap placard hanging from their visor or rear-view mirror, nor was there a plate. That’s when Ashley Brady got the offensive letter and was mocked .
“I was stern and confident in what I was saying. She, in return, had placed this really rude letter under my windshield wiper that said ‘Hey Handicapped! First, never place your hands on my car again! Second, honey you ain’t the only one with struggles. I let the office know the cry baby one leg touches my property I will cause trouble. So go cry your struggles to someone who cares cause I’m walking away with both mine!’”
Brady described how the letter continued with even more offensive language. Ashley was compelled to find a way to wrap her mind around what she had just read. It was such a surreal moment to think anyone could be so vile in a letter to a person who lost their leg.
“I read it probably like five times over and over because my brain just couldn’t even process the level of mean that it was,” said Brady.
The woman’s sister got wind of the letter and decided to take action against the author who wrote it to Ashley. Kaitlyn Siler, Brady’s sister, took to Facebook and posted an image of the letter. Her aim was to draw awareness to anyone suffering in silence with a disability after being subjected to a bully through insensitive discrimination. Since then, the post has logged over 1,000 shares on the social media site.
“If this person really knew her, they would never talk to her that way because she’s so sweet,” said Kaitlyn Siler, Brady’s sister.
After Ashley Brady got the letter, she notified local police. It’s unknown if an investigation is underway. What should the managers of the community do — if anything — to the person who left the rude note?
