Ariana Grande is growing as a musician, and her upcoming album reflects these changes.
Although we still don’t have a release date for the Sam & Cat star’s sophomore record, it’s obviously preparing to hit physical and digital shelves at some point in the near future. This writer suspects that the record will arrive before the end of the summer. Of course, that’s pure speculation on our part.
However, he lack of a release date doesn’t mean Grande has nothing to say about the upcoming album. In fact, she’s eager to talk about the project whenever the opportunity arises. During a brief chat with the folks over at Boca Raton magazine, Ariana said the record shows how much she’s changed since the release of Yours Truly .
The singer told the publication:
“I think it shows my progression as an artist and as a person … It’s a little more grown-up, while still remaining authentic to me as a person. I’m very excited for people to hear it.”
It’s obvious that Ariana has put a lot of time and effort into the new batch of songs. Grande recently told Billboard that she’s a workaholic and a perfectionist , which means she put as much energy into this project as humanly possible. However, it’s still unclear if all this hard work will pay off at the end of the day.
“It was a very exciting thing for me to all of a sudden have this new mission, to make something as special as Yours Truly, and to put my time and effort into something new and something I want to make just as good, if not better,” Ariana told the magazine.
Grande said about her latest single:
“‘Problem’ truly represents the feeling of being absolutely terrified to re-approach a relationship that’s gone sour — but you want to more than anything. In the song, it ends on a sappy, negative note, but in [real] life, we’re hoping it’s going to end on a positive one. I feel like it’s all very honest and human.”
Judging from the success of “Problem,” the singer shouldn’t have any trouble getting folks to buy the upcoming album; the song is still riding high on the iTunes songs chart at the moment. If this the tune’s success is any indication of things to come, then her Ariana Grande’s sophomore record should sell tons of copies when it arrives later this year.
