Ariana Grande’s “Problem” has only just begun…and that’s music to the 20-year-old singer’s ears.
As MTV is reporting, her team-up on “Problem,” with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, “will earn a spot in the history books when it lands the eighth-biggest debut ever on the Billboard Digital Songs chart this week.”
The song, which Grande first debuted on the Ellen DeGeneres Show was projected to be a smash by Billboard earlier this week. Their projections could land Ariana and Iggy in a very exclusive sales categories for female performers:
“Industry forecasters suggest the tune may have sold more than 425,000 downloads in the week ending May 4. That would immediately place it among the top 10 biggest sales debuts ever, and perhaps the fourth-largest bow for a woman.”
The exact figures for sales of “Problem” is 435,000 according to Rap-Up.com . The outlet is also reporting that Ariana Grande is readying the video for “Problem” alongside Iggy Azalea:
“The monochromatic clip, directed by Young Astronaut, features the ladies in all their mod glory. Iggy rocks big blonde hair and Ariana rides a motorcycle in the first pics from the set, which they teased on Instagram .”
Ariana took to Twitter and Instagram to promote the “Problem” video with a series of pics:

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea spoke to MTV regarding the groundwork for teaming up with Grande:
“Ariana is amazing. She’s super sweet, and she has an amazing voice and she’s a great girl to work with. We had actually been talking about doing a collaboration for about a year. We spoke about me being on her first album and it didn’t end up happening, and so it’s great to be on her first single. It’s a cool song, really cool vibe.”
She also mentioned the choice to do a mod-style video with Ariana:
“It’s in the same theme. We are not going to be killing people in a lyric video and then do bubble gum or something in the video, it’s the same realm. It’s fairly evident that the theme is kind of mod and monochromatic. Mod girl would be the theme, I would say to the whole single film.”
Not everything recently has been coming up roses for Ariana Grande however. She recently had to dismiss rumors that Rhianna was making fun of the singer’s dance moves at her recent iHeart Radio performance. Us Weekly is reporting that Rhianna and Grande did clear the air after the show:
“She was so kind to me, she was like, ‘Lil’ mama keep doing what you’re doing because it’s working.’”
