Apple iPhone 5S and low-cost iPhones will be featured in multiple colors, according to a new rumor on the web.
According to a rumor from Macotakara , the low-cost iPhone will feature a plastic shell instead of aluminum. The company claims that the plastic shell will make it easy for Apple to offer white, pink, green, blue, and yellow-orange designs.
MacRumors believes the devices will ship in a different color palette with navy, gold orange, white, and gray.
It is also rumored that Apple will sell the low-cost device for $350 to $400.
The more expensive iPhone 5 is also expected to ship with a host of new colors. The current rumor points to standard black and white models alongside green or gold devices. A previous rumor also claimed that Apple was mulling over the idea of a pink iPhone.
If several different colors are not enough to excite you about the iPhone 5 and low-cost iPhone, perhaps the rumored dual-LED flash will help sway you.
One rumor states that the low-cost iPhone will go into limited trial production in June, leading to expectations of a 2013 release that would be directly against current speculation of a 2014 release.
Apple, of course, is no stranger to multiple-color devices. The newest version of the iPod Touch comes in a host of colors that have been a hit among consumers.
By offering various color options for the iPhone 5 and low-cost iPhone, Apple could better compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and other devices that often provide customers with various color options.
Other options rumored to be arriving for iPhone devices are a fingerprint reader and quite possibly the removal of the home button, which would be replaced with a touchscreen option.
As has been the case with every iPhone product, the team at Apple is remaining close-lipped about its new iPhone 5 and low-cost iPhone products.
