Amy Duggar’s boyfriend wants 19 Kids and Counting fans to know that his girlfriend was not one of Josh Duggar’s abuse victims. Meanwhile, fans of the Duggars’ TLC series are digging up some cringe-worthy old clips of Josh.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, four of the five underage girls abused by Josh were his own sisters . Because their cousin Amy often appears on 19 Kids and Counting , many fans assumed that she was one of Josh’s victims. However, according to a report by the Ashley’s Reality Roundup , Amy Duggar’s boyfriend , Dillon King, recently denied that she was abused.
“I’m so thankful for this beautiful girl in my life, praying for the Duggar family in this hard time,” Dillon King captioned the photo below. “Thank you Jesus Amy wasn’t involved in the situation. Love you baby girl! Praying for your family and the love ones involved.”
A few of King’s Instagram followers thought that his words were insensitive and disrespectful to Josh’s victims, but he responded to critics by saying that he’s sees nothing wrong with being thankful that his girlfriend was not molested.
Amy Duggar isn’t the biggest fan of the way her aunt and uncle do things. During an interview with Radar Online , the pants-wearing rebel of the family said that Jim Bob and Michelle have trapped their kids in a “Duggar bubble” that includes rules about love that are way too strict. Amy doesn’t think it’s the best idea to save kissing for marriage, and she believes in the modern method of dating a few people before settling down.
“I can’t even imagine courting like that. It works for them, and I hope to God they have successful relationships… But what if they suck at kissing?” Amy said. “I can’t imagine not kissing to full blown ‘let’s do it all’ in 30 seconds!”
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar don’t allow their kids to “court” someone unless they’re already pretty certain that they’ll end up marrying that person, but Amy doesn’t see anything wrong with kissing a few frogs to find a prince.
“I couldn’t image marrying my first boyfriend… I’m glad I had bad relationships and I grew from that. You learn from everything you do, it’s part of your story.”
Amy Duggar first appeared in a 2008 episode of 19 Kids and Counting (then 17 Kids and Counting ) titled “Duggar Dating Rules.” She quickly proved that she wasn’t like the rest of the clan by calling Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar out for forbidding their kids from kissing before marriage even though they engaged in a little hanky-panky prior to getting hitched.
In that same episode of the show, Josh Duggar made a joke about incest and a video of this cringe-worthy moment was recently shared on the Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles and hairspray Facebook page. In the clip, Josh talks about going on a date with then-fiancee Anna. The Duggars require chaperones for all dates, so Jana Duggar and her twin John brother David are told to tag along.
“We chose Jana and John David,” Josh says in the clip below. “We thought, ‘Why not have a double date?’ We are from Arkansas!”
Earlier in the episode, Josh is shown making another joke about incest and Arkansas.
“Jana, John David, what’s up with y’all? You’re not holding hands. We are from Arkansas!” he says during another scene.
Do you think it’s disturbing that Josh Duggar was making jokes about incest two years after his parents helped protect him from getting in legal trouble for molesting his little sisters? And do you think Amy Duggar made the right decision to do things her own way instead of following Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s rules?
