The Alice Eve Star Trek Into Darkness scene where the character of Dr. Carol Marcus appears in her underwear was probably misogynistic, cheerfully self-promoting writer Damon Lindelof acknowledged this week in a series of not-too-terribly serious tweets.
If you’re starting to get the idea that Lindehof is deliberately stirring the pot over the pointless scene where Eve appears wearing her scanties to show off her well-toned abs and surgically enhanced rack, well, you might not be the only one.
Otherwise, lovers of S tar Trek Into Darkness cheesecake might be too busy thumbing through those nude pictures of Zoë Saldana that recently appeared in the June Allure. After all, Saldana has a nice body too, and she dispensed even with the bra and underpants when showing off her lean figure.
But whether it’s about Alice Eve or anything else related to screenwriting, Damon Lindehof loves to talk. In a recent very long interview, he addressed his Twitter issues:
“I feel like I’ll get a big head and think that I’m awesome all the time, and I don’t want to be that guy. You know, it’s a little — I’m too much of a p**** to, like, whip myself on the back like Paul Bettany in The Da Vinci Code, so Twitter is my…my little self-flagellation. All I have to do is tap my iPhone twice to get pain, you know? It’s masochistic, but I keep going back for more, so it’s doing something for me.”
Here are three of the tweets from the Alice Eve debate:
Also, I need to learn how to spell “misogynistic.”

We also had Kirk shirtless in underpants in both movies.Do not want to make light of something that some construe as mysogenistic.

I copped to the fact that we should have done a better job of not being gratuitous in our representation of a barely clothed actress.

Yeah, I can tell he’s really, really sorry that Star Trek Into Darkness included the silly scene.
Damon Lindelof may be a Twitter masochist, but he seems to be enjoying the Alice Eve lingerie brouhaha.
