The first photo of Adam Lanza, the man suspected of killing 27 people today at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, has been released by ABC.
ABC reports that the photo of Lanza was taken in 2005 when he was about 13-years-old.
Details about the 20-year-old are starting to emerge from neighbors near Newtown. One relative said that Adam was “obviously not well.” A friend said that he was “not connected with other kids.”
Police believe that Lanza shot and killed his mother Nancy at their home . Adam then took two semi-automatic handguns and a semi-automatic rifle to Sandy Hook Elementary School. It is believed that Nancy once worked at the school. ABC reports that Lanza then shot and killed 27 people, including 18 students, before taking his own life.
Police initially identified Ryan Lanza, Adam’s brother, as the shooter. A photo of Ryan was passed around social media sites but the older Lanza brother eventually wrote on his Facebook page that he was never at the school. Police took Ryan in for questioning and also searched his apartment in Hoboken, New Jersey. The NYPD and the FBI also went to Ernst & Young, where Ryan works, and removed his laptop as part of the investigation.
Police are also interviewing Ryan’s father Peter Lanza. Ryan and Peter are not being charged for any crimes.

President Obama, who ordered all American flags to be lowered to half-staff today , said that he was heart broken by the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
“I know there’s not a parent in America that doesn’t feel the same overwhelming grief as I do. Our hearts are broken today for the parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers of these little children … Our hearts are broken for the parents of the survivors as well.”
