Carrie Underwood Quitting, Or Just Talking About Quitting

So Carrie Underwood would quit her career if hunky hubby, National Hockey League star Mike Fisher, asked her to — or at least that’s what she supposedly told People magazine in an exclusive interview with Michelle Tauber. According to their report, which I have no reason to doubt, the blonde songbird burbled:

“If Mike ever told me he needed me to quit, I’d quit. When you make that promise to somebody, and you stand before God and your family and friends, you’ve got to do everything that you possibly can to make that work.”

Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but my gut reaction is that I don’t need a handjob this time of day. C’mon, Carrie. I mean, no doubt I’m the devil, but I don’t see you walking away from appearances where you get to wear $31 million dollar pieces of jewelry any time soon.

After all, a three-year celebrity marriage is probably getting pretty close to its expiration date, especially after you’ve spent eight months on the road for your “Blown Away” tour. Hey, is that really Blown Away? Or is it Getting Away? Heh.

It’s my humble opinion that if the edible-looking Mr. Fisher ever said, “Carrie, it’s time to get your cute little tail offstage,” you’d react like you’d been tossed into a wrestling ring with Taylor Swift.

After all, there are a lot of nice-looking sixpacks in the world, but there just aren’t that many $31 million dollar diamonds.

My advice to Mike Fisher: I wouldn’t test Carrie Underwood’s quitting claims by…you know…actually asking her to quit.

In case you were on Mars and somehow missed it, Carrie recently returned to where all the craziness got started, American Idol.

What do you think about Carrie Underwood’s quitting remark?
