American Horror Story: Roanoke is not only about to give fans a big twist in the story, but it is also about to get a companion season from creator Ryan Murphy. That is something that fans of the FX show have been expecting for quite some time now, but with much uncertainty.
Ryan Murphy had already teased last year that he was anticipating doing two seasons of American Horror Story this year, which meant that he would have one in the fall and one in the spring. But when he spoke about it, he said nothing that indicated that the project was a go for American Horror Story .

But now that Ryan Murphy has finally let the cat out of the bag when he spoke with Entertainment Weekly , there is an even bigger surprise in store for American Horror Story fans. That detail, which is still mostly a secret with little to no details to go along with it, is that another season is being worked out for the FX show and will in some way be a companion to the current American Horror Story: Roanoke season.
“It’s my secret season. I’ve been working with a writer on a season that only he and I know,” Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly . “It’s like a two-year project that we’ll continue to work on the sly and not tell anybody.”
Many of the details of this covert season of American Horror Story are still unclear at this time and what Ryan Murphy said was not much more than a tease at the moment. But what is quite revealing about it is that he has not let go of his original plans to make a double-season for American Horror Story this year.
This also seems to be echoing what another major horror TV series is doing over on AMC, The Walking Dead . On TWD , they have created a spinoff prequel series, Fear The Walking Dead , in order to give fans a year-round experience with the show and the Walking Dead universe.

If all goes as planned, the same thing will be happening for American Horror Story . AHS is not limited by time period constraints either, given that it has already jumped around quite extensively with timelines.
“I don’t know when it will [air] but it’s also an experiment,” Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly about this American Horror Story project. “It’s a different way of doing it. It’s one person writing all episodes. I don’t know if it’s going to work but it’s like, well, let’s try that. We might get them done and shoot them on the sly and drop it.”
Those are words of mystery, which is something Ryan Murphy and American Horror Story are notorious for after the conclusion of Season 5, Hotel . But it seems reasonable to expect the secret season of American Horror Story to air if it makes all the way to production.
For fans that have been keeping up with American Horror Story: Roanoke , the show has still yet to air a trademark opening sequence that has been so unique to the series. It has rather been airing as a mock documentary, or giving viewers faux footage of an event that is portrayed as a real-life experiences.
For those who have not been watching American Horror Story: Roanoke , be warned, there are MAJOR SPOILERS ahead.
Fans of American Horror Story have finally seen the presence of Lady Gaga in the season and revealed that her role has changed a bit from last year. She has taken on a character that seems to be more subservient and the small glance we got from her indicates that she is more of a secondary character for the season and will not be the headlining act.

As a matter of fact, it might be reasonable to assume that Cuba Gooding, Jr. is the new headliner for Season 6 of American Horror Story , given his dominating presence in the show alongside Sarah Paulson.
