General Zod is featured in the latest trailer for Man of Steel .

Superman is about the most iconic superhero we know. Drawing strength from Earth’s sun, the man of steel is practically unstoppable. Somehow even Kryptonite, a mineral from his long-destroyed home planet, never seems to keep him down for long. Superman’s villains can’t keep him down either. The man of steel has faced down Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Apocalypse, and countless others that would make any average superhero likely soil their trousers.

In Man of Steel , one of Superman’s own people is after him. General Zod, played by Michael Shannon , has given the man of steel 24 hours to turn himself over before he begins the annihilation of the human race just for helping Superman.

The final trailer for Man of Steel begins with a few moments of static before General Zod begins his ultimatum speech. You can barely make out some of the words on the screen (You are not alone) at the beginning as he repeats the words over and over. Finally we see a room full of monitors showing the static we just witnessed.

General Zod finally begins his speech, “My name is General Zod , and I have journeyed across an ocean of stars to reach you. Your world has sheltered one of my citizens. He will look like you, but he is not one of you. To those of you who know of his location, the fate of your planet rests in your hands. To Kal-El, I say this: Surrender within 24 hours or watch this world suffer the consequences.”

During the speech, we see a large claw-like spacecraft among the buildings of Metropolis, Clark Kent hitchhiking along a cold and snowy road as well as holding something up on a ship after a large explosion. We also see a mysterious masked character with a presence akin to Bane from the Batman films.

The rest of the trailer is above. Man of Steel is slated to hit theaters June 14.
