Chiefs Beat Eagles For Big Win On Thursday Night Football

Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs beat Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football for a big win.

The Chiefs are now 3-0 after finishing last season 2-14. Andy Reid and Alex Smith have brought a completely new attitude to Kansas City. It’s not a flashy team, but they get the job done.

The Eagles, the flashy team in the game, looked anything but explosive. Philadelphia wants to run an offense so fast opposing defenses can’t keep up. If that was the mission, they failed miserably. Kansas City’s defense applied consistent pressure to Michael Vick , who completed less than 50 percent of his passes. He also turned the ball over twice.

The Chiefs dominated in their win over the Eagles. The score may have been 26-16, but it could have been a lot more crooked. Philadelphia got lucky Kansas City couldn’t close out a number of drives with touchdowns, and had to settle for three field goals.

With less than two minutes left, Michael Vick took a sack and left the game, probably injured. Even worse, he fumbled the ball on the play and Kansas City recovered.

The game was over.

Andy Reid and the Chiefs kept it classy on the sidelines. There was no show-boating or over-excitement as Reid won his first game back in Philadelphia since being fired. Until his team gave Reid a surprise Gatorade bath, anyways. Reid never saw it coming. After the game he said, “it’s good to come back like this” with a sly smile on his face. He clearly enjoyed the trip.

Now the Chiefs are 3-0. It’s still early in the year, but they look like a playoff team. That, and the last time a Reid led team started 3-0, they went to the Super Bowl. Let’s not speculate too much though.

Did you think the Chiefs would beat the Eagles and start the season 3-0?
