Is Jim Harbaugh headed to the Rams? How about Tony Romo to the Buffalo Bills? Yep, it’s that time of year again. The month of December just doesn’t bring snow, Christmas and the possibilities of dreaming of a Happy New Year — it also brings the NFL rumors by the boat loads.
One rumor that may not stop for the next four years (or longer) is going to be when will Jim Harbaugh jump back to the NFL and what team he will coach.
Harbaugh has been at Michigan now for two seasons and he has seemingly already turned the program back to its winning ways. Yet every December the Jim Harbaugh rumors resurface. This time it involves Harbuagh leaving U of M and heading back to the west coast to coach the the LA Rams.
According to a Yahoo Sports report, the rumors of Harbaugh leaving his Alma Mater to take over the Los Angeles Rams are a “very real thing.” So how did this latest Harbaugh rumor get off the ground?
MMQB’s Albert Breer said that he believed Harbaugh to the Rams has a “very real possibility” to it. So that is coming from a credible source.
FOX Sports 1 host Colin Cowherd FS1 had to say about the Rams coaching situation if they move on from Jeff Fisher.
“I think Josh McDaniels could be really good, but his profile’s rather small especially on the west coast. He was in Denver briefly, the Tebow coach and fail. I think you could bring Mike Shanahan in and he would bring his son Kyle Shanahan and if they came to Los Angeles that would work and you could bring Jim Harbaugh, that would work.”
So is Harbaugh thinking of leaving the “maize and blue” and bolt back to the NFL? It is doubtful. It is not like it could never happen, but Jim Harbaugh is a “Michigan Man,” through and through. He makes good money, he loves Ann Arbor and most of all he want to bring Michigan a National Championship title. It would be surprising to see him walk away.
Now on to the biggest backup quarterback in demand, Tony Romo.
The Dallas Cowboys and Tony Romo are destined to part ways sooner rather than later, but where Romo will land is the question. While the Denver Broncos seem like an obvious choice, could the Buffalo Bills be in the mix?
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport indicated yesterday that if the Bills pull the plug on the Tyrod Taylor era, they may be looking to get into the Tony Romo sweepstakes.
#Bills have 4 games to make a call on Tyrod Taylor. No decision yet. A dark horse for Tony Romo if they move on… https://t.co/mpN4JPAnKA

Romo would instantly bring credibility to a Bills team that really isn’t too far off from becoming a great team. However, what would the Bills do with Taylor, who just signed a six-year, $90 million extension last August?
Buffalo may not want to bring in a QB that only has a year or two left in his career, but to save money and focus on the draft, anything could happen.
As for Romo, seeing him in a Denver Broncos uniform seems very possible. John Elway knows his team is Super Bowl ready, but the missing link this season is a strong quarterback. That problem occurred for Elway and the Broncos after Peyton Manning retired — and Denver’s future QB Brock Osweiler decided to head to the Houston Texans.
NFL.com indicates that if Buffalo did decide Taylor is not their quarterback of the future, they will likely go after a veteran quarterback with a possible eye on Romo, Chicago’s Jay Cutler or San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick. One thing that makes many believe that Buffalo will ride it out with Taylor is his flashes of greatness and his age.
The market for a veteran quarterback is going to be plentiful this offseason, the only question is who will land where — and which team will land Romo.
The NFL rumor madness is just beginning!
