A winning Powerball ticket worth $400 million was sold in South Carolina.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the South Carolina winner is the only person to win a piece of the massive jackpot.

The winner, who chose the lucky numbers 7, 10, 22, 32, 35 and a Powerball of 19, can take $400 million in annuity or a lump cash sum of $223 million.

South Carolina Educational Lottery Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea said that the winning Powreball ticket was sold in the small town of Lexington. The South Carolina city has just under 20,000 people.

The winner hasn’t come forward yet. A press conference is scheduled for later this morning to provide a few more details about the winning ticket.

South Carolina lottery officials told NBC that the winner should “sign the back of the ticket, put it in a safe location, seek financial or legal advice from a trusted source, and then come forward to claim the ticket.”

The $400 million Powerball jackpot is a huge sum of money but it isn’t the biggest in game history. It isn’t even the biggest this summer. On August 10, a $448 million jackpot was split between three winning tickets.

The largest Powerball jackpot was won in May by a woman in Florida. The woman’s winning ticket was worth $590 million .

Are you surprised by the recent string of Powerball jackpots? You shouldn’t be. Lottery officials recently raised ticket prices from $1 to $2 and that has resulted into more enormous jackpots.
