Apple hasn’t done a major update on its MacBook Pro line since 2012. Well, that is all about to change. BGR has the news .
“The company is rumored to be planning a press conference later this month at which it may unveil a number of updated products in its Mac lineup. The star of the show, if recent reports pan out, will be a completely redesigned MacBook Pro with a special secondary touchscreen display above the standard keyboard that will be home to a row of morphing function keys.”

BGR adds that the new screen will allegedly show different keys depending on which app is being used, helping to open up a wide range of new functionality for MacBook Pro users. According to iTech Post , the new MacBook Pro display may be out of this world.
“There are many rumors and speculations about the specs and features of the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016. According to them, MacBook Pro 2016 might come with a 5K display that will replace the ThunderBolt display of its predecessors. LG and Apple are rumored to work together to improve MacBook Pro’s display.”
The article adds that some versions of the MacBook Pro could have a dual-core Intel Core M processor while others would have a 7th generation Intel Core i5 or a Core i7 CPU. The device may come with support for USB-C, which is rapidly becoming a standard. There is also a possibility users could get 10 hours of battery life from the new MacBook Pro.
Apple’s upcoming notebook has caused a lot of excitement on Reddit.
“I feel your pain. I am now cycling through my usual Apple rumor blogs on an hourly basis waiting for something new. I am beginning to worry that there hasn’t been any invitation to a keynote/event yet. If there is an event scheduled for around the 25th of October, shouldn’t an invitation have been sent out already?” asks Your_favorite_mexi in response to a poster who has been constantly doing Google searches for new MacBook Pro information.
“Finally some talk about the MBP! Everything seems so iPhone focused,” says QuazyWabbit1 .
After months of being in a slump (at least according to the media), it appears that Apple has been pulling all the punches since the release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September. Both phones have received great reviews. However, Apple detractors are pushing the fact that shipments for Apple’s new iPhones may come in lower this year than they did one year ago. However, as Motley Fool notes, judging iPhone 7 and 7 Plus sales on that could be misleading.
“With the iPhone 6S, Apple likely built and shipped iPhone 6S devices under the assumption that the then-new device would sell better in the marketplace than the prior generation iPhone 6. When it was clear that the end-demand wasn’t there, Apple wound up cutting iPhone 6S production and reducing the number of phones that it shipped to its channel/distribution partners,” says columnist Ashraft Eassa, noting that Apple likely produced less iPhone 7 and 7 Plus units this year so they don’t make the same mistake again.
It appears that Apple couldn’t even keep up with the demand for the new iPhone, especially the iPhone 7 Plus. Even though the 7 Plus was released a month ago, there are still people on all carriers waiting for their desired iPhone 7 Plus, especially the Jet Black one. The excitement for the new iPhones combined with the possible release of the new MacBook Pros at the end of October could make 2016 one of Apple’s most profitable years yet.
