Morrisey Cancels Jimmy Kimmel Live Performance, Won’t Appear With ‘Duck Dynasty’

Morrissey was supposed to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live but cancelled his appearance after learning that the Duck Dynasty family would be showing up on the same night.

The famed British singer is an animal rights activist and vegetarian. Morrisey’s fight for animal rights led him to his last minute decision.

Following his announcement to cancel the Jimmy Kimmel appearance, Morrisey’s reps released the following statement:

“Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, Feb. 26. However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of Duck Dynasty will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed.”

The statement then goes on to compare the Duck Dynasty family to a cult of serial killers:

“As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty, then we must step away.”

If you are unfamiliar with Duck Dynasty , it is a very popular reality TV series that focuses on the Robertson family, the owner-operators of multi-million dollar business Duck Commander. The family essentially makes Duck calls used by millions of hunters the world over.

Morrisey is so serious about his vegetarian, animal loving lifestyle that, during his sold-out Los Angeles show on March 1, all vendors inside and outside of the venue will be 100 percent vegetarian.

We know at least one family that won’t be attending Morrisey’s show.

Jimmy Kimmel has not responded to Morrisey’s decision to pull out of the show at the last moment because of Duck Dynasty ‘s appearance.
