The WWE looks completely different now than it did just three years ago. A company that was built on the backs of men like John Cena and Randy Orton suddenly found new main event stars thrust onto the scene and the entire landscape of the company changed. This is largely due to the NXT developmental brand and SmackDown Live superstar Baron Corbin told ESPN that it was all because of Triple H.
Baron Corbin mentioned that NXT all started out with guys in a warehouse in Florida. However, when Triple H came in and changed the entire outlook of the company.
Triple H not only came in and changed the brand itself but he worked hard to give them everything they needed to succeed. Baron Corbin said that the NXT brand was a lot like a small band with a cult following, playing in little clubs. He said not everyone could see them but they heard about them and soon wanted to see what the fuss was all about.
Triple H was then able to get the WWE Performance Center built and then they got their spot on the WWE Network. Baron Corbin said this was all thanks to Triple H. However, Baron Corbin also said that the guys who were there with him when they were starting to grow put in a ton of work to make NXT what it is today.
The very first NXT champion was Seth Rollins and Triple H was instrumental in putting Rollins together with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose when they debuted on the main WWE roster as The Shield. Ever since their debut, all three of those former NXT stars have been world champions.
NXT has also become a huge hotspot for indie and foreign stars such as Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, and more to come and get a chance to prove they are WWE-caliber wrestlers.
The fact that the two biggest champions in the WWE are Kevin Owens (former Ring of Honor, PWG) and AJ Styles (former TNA Impact Wrestling) shows how much of an impact the NXT brand has had on the WWE and it all started with the group of wrestlers that Baron Corbin was part of.
Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Paige, Bo Dallas, Heath Slater, Xavier Woods, Big E, Tyler Breeze, Titus O’Neil, Rusev, and more all got their WWE start around that time in NXT before moving on to the main WWE roster. Other wrestlers, such as Ethan Carter III and Bram were in the NXT system before moving on to TNA Impact Wrestling.
Baron Corbin was one of the originals that NXT created from the ground up when he worked for the WWE developmental territory. That is honestly a smaller group of wrestlers, which included names like Roman Reigns, Bo Dallas, Bray Wyatt, Charlotte, Bayley, and Rusev, who NXT was able to build into stars.
With wrestlers there now like Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, Hideo Itami, and more, it looks like NXT is more of a stepping stone to the WWE for more established stars, but there are still youngsters who are trying to establish themselves with the company like Baron Corbin did.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, WWE NXT is looking to go to a live show format in 2017 , which is also thanks to Triple H who has crafted this brand from the ground up. For fans of old-school wrestling booking, NXT is the perfect promotion, and as Baron Corbin said, it all started with Triple H and a group of kids in a warehouse in Florida.
