Alaskan Bush People is currently between seasons, but that doesn’t stop the Brown family from making headlines. Recent reports suggest that Ami Brown, the matriarch, is suffering from cancer.
Ami’s family saddened by the news
According to Radar Online , Ami has been diagnosed with cancer , which stems from her spinal problems that she has been suffering from for years. Ami’s brother, Les Branson, said that the 53-year-old is currently undergoing treatment in Los Angeles, according to friends from Alaska.
Branson told Radar that it is “really sad” to hear the news, adding that Brown has already suffered a lot. However, this remains a rumor, and Ami reportedly refuses to speak with Branson. Branson plans to call hospitals in Los Angeles to verify the information and find his sister. He has yet to inform their mother, Earlene Branson, who is now 84-years-old. Earlene has not seen her daughter for 30 years.
Alaskan Bush People Season 7 in the works
Meanwhile, Alaskan Bush People Season 7 has reportedly started filming. A fan posted on Twitter that some members of the Brown family are filming in Browntown and are being flown in and out by float planes. The production is said to have begun on May 8.
The update comes amid ongoing rumors that Alaskan Bush People has been canceled for being fake. While there was no update from the Discovery Channel regarding the show’s future, Alaskan Bush People is listed among the network’s returning shows for the 2017-2018 TV season.
There are also rumors that Alaskan Bush People Season 7 would be the final season. But for the meantime, the Brown family is back on television with reruns of the docu-series. The entire Season 6 is also available on DiscoveryGo. If the show pushes through, the network would probably do the same as last year: airing reruns as fans and haters alike wait for any news of the show’s renewal or cancellation.
When Alaskan Bush People returns for Season 7, it would likely pick up on Noah’s relationship with his girlfriend, Rhain Alicia. In the finale of Season 6, the youngest Brown son was mulling over bringing Rhain Alicia in Browntown for good, according to a Alaska Dispatch News recap. Alicia might be forced to move back to Oregon because she can’t find a place to live or work in Hoonah. Will Alicia move in with Noah in Browntown?
And then there’s Bam, who is rumored to be in a relationship with Allison Kagan, a producer on the Alaskan Bush People . Would Season 7 finally feature their budding romance? Bam Bam and Allison were recently spotted holding hands at a boat show. Way before that, the two were spotted hanging out in New York.
The Twitter user rittgerscr also teased that Alaskan Bush People could take a different path, saying that something interesting had happened.
The post included a photo with texts that read, “Farewell to Browntown?”
It might be related to words that Season 7 would be the show’s farewell season. Perhaps a spin-off series focusing on one of the Brown kids as Ami and Billy deal with their health concerns is in the works.
Alaskan Bush People follows the life of Ami and Billy Brown and their seven grown children, Gabe, Noah, Bam Bam, Matt, Rain, Bear, and Snowbird. The family claims to have lived in the wilderness of Alaska for the past 30 years and calls themselves a wolf pack. They often spend their time living away from the civilization.
Alaskan Bush People has been surrounded by controversies, and many call it a fake reality TV series. Still, the show remains popular and one of the most-watched programs on Discovery Channel.
