A tabloid known to be the igniter of gossip and rumors writes that “Gwyn and Winona’s grudge goes on. Can two epic enemies bury the hatchet?” The publication that is by times questionable states that the initial feud goes back almost two decades to when Paltrow reportedly stole the lead role in Shakespeare in Love from Ryder. Gwyneth then went on to win an Oscar due to her performance in the film.
Now that Winona is experiencing some success once again with her hit Netflix show Stranger Things, the Goop CEO is attempting to patch things up and mend the relationship between herself and Ryder. An apparent friend of Winona’s shares the view that the star supposedly has in regard to Gwyneth’s attempts to patch things up.
“Winona didn’t hear one word from her for years — it’s just so typical that Gwyn is reaching out now that Winona is popular again. The still-bitter 90s star wants nothing to do with her old frenemy. Gwyn is such a phony — where was all this interest when Winona was doing voice-overs for Frankenweenie ?”
All these claims sound like juicy bits of gossip, yet Gossip Cop regrets to inform that the reported feud is simply not true and a ridiculous tale. A rep close to Paltrow shares that the story is “just plain made up,” as the site relays.

Both women are doing remarkably well and always have done so. Although Winona Ryder did take a hiatus from Hollywood, she shares that this was a break she needed after working tirelessly throughout much of the 90s. The star spoke in a rare interview recently about her career and love life. Ryder spoke of the reason she never married in the interview she gave to The Edit last month.
“I’m a serial monogamist. I was single for a while and dating and… I just didn’t know how to do it! I’ve always been like that: when I was 15, there was a guy I liked, and we made out, and I thought that meant he was my boyfriend. My mom had to explain it to me. But marriage? I don’t know. I’d rather never have been married than been divorced a few times. Not that there’s anything wrong with divorce, but I don’t think I could do it if that was a possibility. When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high. But I’ve been happily with someone for quite a while now.”
Ryder was engaged to Johnny Depp in the 90s and then dated Matt Damon for years following her split with Depp. As for her comeback, Winona shares that she was just ready to return after a nice break.
“I was working a lot [in the ’90s] and I needed to slow down. It’s so important to have a life outside the industry, to not look to it to validate you as a human being.”
The star also went on to relay how she embraces aging and does not buy into all of the cosmetic procedures. I guess it’s a little easier to not go along with the crowd in that regard when you haven’t aged a day since you were 17. Both Winona and Gwyneth have that in common. Ryder shares that she prefers to welcome the fine lines and make them a happy change as opposed something she wards off.
Gwyneth, likewise, has made a great life for herself and has been very successful with her lifestyle site Goop, which she has recently stepped away from to let others run.
