Aaron Hernandez was seen on surveillance video with Odin Lloyd just hours before Lloyd was killed earlier this week, intensifying the investigation into the New England Patriots tight end.
Video taken in the North Attleborough, Massachusetts, neighborhood where Lloyd was killed showed Hernandez and two other people with the murder victim . A separate video appeared to show Hernandez and Lloyd together on Fayston Street in Boston early Monday morning.
Lloyd was found later on Monday with a gunshot to the back of his head, his body dumped in an industrial park close to a mile from Hernandez’s home.
The 27-year-old Lloyd, a semi-professional basketball player in Boston, was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend. Police said his body was found near a car registered to Hernandez.
When Massachusetts State police searched Hernandez’s home this week, they found that he had destroyed the sophisticated security system guarding the $1.3 million house. Along with the broken security equipment , police also found a destroyed cell phone and learned that the Patriots player had hired “a team of house cleaners” on Monday.
Reports said Hernandez initially was uncooperative with police but later gave in. Police also searched the car of some men at Hernandez’s home who tried to leave.
Hernandez, though his attorney, said he will not comment on the investigation.
“It has been widely reported in the media that the state police have searched the home of our client, Aaron Hernandez, as part of an ongoing investigation. Out of respect for that process, neither we nor Aaron will have any comment about the substance of that investigation until it has come to a conclusion,” attorney Michael Fee said in a statement.
As the murder investigation progresses, the media focus on Aaron Hernandez has intensified. He has been followed by news cameras since the story broke, and a news helicopter followed along as the left the Patriots practice facility and drove to Boston, near the offices of his attorney.
Aaron Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd, police sources told ABC News .
