Karen Huger has acted like she’s the defining person of Potomac on this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. She lives in a big house, has children in college, and her husband runs a successful company. And Huger has some set standards when it comes to etiquette and when people don’t follow her rules, she lets them know. And it sounds like Katie Rost’s outspoken personality during the reunion special had Karen confused and angry. When Rost revealed that Huger is not the Grand Dame of Potomac, she lashed out.
According to a new Bravo report, Karen Huger may see herself as the Grand Dame of Potomac and the show, but she may not want to admit it. It’s no secret that Huger has a tough inner circle that can be hard to penetrate, but it sounds like Huger is very protective about who she even associates herself with these days.
“Katie, Katie Katie… does not have the authority to say who or who is not the Grand Dame. For that matter, who is Katie? I’m not quite sure if Katie is an authority on anything other than her mindless rants. We all have opinions and Katie is entitled to hers and we’ve all seen how quite delusional they can be from time to time. I have no idea where all this new take on the ‘Grand Dame’ chatter from camp Katie is coming from nor do I care,” Karen Huger revealed in her blog, revealing that she had never heard of anyone talking about the Grand Dame label before.
But the interesting thing is that Karen does give herself credit when it comes to a title. She explains in her blog that her title was bestowed upon her long before Rost came into her life, so Karen does admit that she has a title worth recognizing.
“My title was bestowed upon me long before Katie came into the picture and it’s never been questioned and she can’t have it! Can we say jealous much Katie? My advice to Katie would be to stay in her “bubble of love”, she looks sooo pretty there. Katie’s focus would be better served focusing on the Rost Foundation,” Karen reveals in her blog, throwing some shade at her co-star.
Of course, Rost was planning a big fundraiser for her Rost Foundation , but she ended up cancelling the event and focusing on other projects, as she didn’t have enough time to put something together. And after she cancelled the event, she threw some shade at Karen Huger, who had put together an event for a family member. She called it the O-Gala, and Rost was not impressed.
But Karen was slammed throughout the reunion special over her comments about “the help.” But as it turns out, Huger was proud to announce that she herself had worked at two fast-food restaurants as a young teenager and she did see herself as “the help” at one point in her life. It is definitely interesting that Huger decides to bring this up in her blog.
“I am so proud to say I was the help. My first job was actually at Burger King. I was slamming burgers at the tender age of 16. I later worked for Taco Bell at the drive thru window. While both jobs were short lived I learned that there’s nothing wrong with an honest day’s work at any station in life,” Huger reveals.
What do you think of Karen Huger’s comments about Rost? Are you surprised that Karen is holding herself up to a high standard and is sitting comfortably on her pedestal as the Grand Dame of Potomac?
