As previously reported by The Inquisitr , North Korea declared a state of war against South Korea last week . North Korea’s official statement also promised nuclear war against the United States .
A statement about North Korea’s nukes were released through the official Korean Central News Agency :
“[North Korea’s nukes] are neither a political bargaining chip nor a thing for economic dealings to be presented to the place of dialogue or be put on the table of negotiations aimed at forcing [Pyongyang] to disarm itself.
“[North Korea’s] nuclear armed forces represent the nation’s life, which can never be abandoned as long as the imperialists and nuclear threats exist on earth.”
While US officials are denouncing such statements as “bellicose rhetoric,” they also being careful in case North Korea decides to deploy a nuclear weapon . As such, the recently deployed USS Fitzgerald is capable of intercepting and destroying a missile.
On Sunday, the United States sent F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets to South Korea as part of ongoing military exercises with South Korea that occur every year. These fighter jets join the B-52 bombers and B-2 stealth bombers that were already sent to South Korea.
South Korean President Park Geun-hye is taking the North Korean nukes very seriously and apparently gave the military permission to attack without permission at first sign of a nuclear launch: “As commander-in-chief of the armed forces, I will trust the military’s judgment on abrupt and surprise provocations by North Korea.”
