Once Upon A Time Season 7 will not air for quite some time. However, executive producer Adam Horowitz is already talking about what fans can expect. One question viewers have is why can’t Henry Mills (Andrew J. West) remember having a daughter?
Possible OUAT spoilers might be ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what to expect in the new season of the ABC fairy tale drama.
The Season 6 finale gave fans a glimpse of what is coming when Once Upon A Time returns. Henry Mills will be all grown up and will answer his door to a young girl claiming to be his daughter. Her name is Lucy, and she will be portrayed by Alison Fernandez. However, he doesn’t seem to recall having a child, but she seems to insist that his family needs him.
In the latest issue of TV Guide , Adam Horowitz spoke about the situation. Fans shouldn’t worry about unanswered questions in Season 7. The OUAT showrunner promised that the reason why Henry can’t recall being a father would be addressed.
“We’ll reveal why Henry doesn’t seem to remember, or acknowledge, having a child. Henry and Lucy’s mom became our epic love story.”
It is interesting that the executive producer said remember or acknowledge. While it appears that Henry doesn’t recall having a daughter, fans recall a similar situation with Emma when Once Upon A Time first began airing years ago. It turned out that she did know about her son, but Emma didn’t want to think about it. She gave him up for adoption, which was revealed pretty early on in the first season. It started a lot of tension between Emma and Henry’s adoptive mother, Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla).
The other question viewers have about Season 7 is why Henry has aged, but the other characters have not. Even though several cast members are not returning, Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), Regina, and Rumple (Robert Carlyle) don’t seem to have aged a day.
“We’re still dealing with magic and alternate realities. It’s time to return to what made OUAT special – fairy-tale characters living in the real world who no longer know who they are.”
It sounds like the new season of Once Upon A Time might be dealing with another curse.
Even though not a lot of information is known about Season 7, it will be dealing with the characters with new identities in a new city. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Lana Parrilla doesn’t know a lot of details, either.
“I am excited to see what the next chapter is for Regina and who this new Henry is. If he’s older, does that mean I’m aging? I don’t know!”
There is also the issue of what kind of storyline Regina will have in OUAT Season 7 . In an interview, Parilla discussed playing such a complicated character in a video chat with Gold Derby .
“She is by far the most complicated character I’ve ever had to portray. I love that I never know what she’s going to do next. I love that she’s constantly searching to be a better human being, for herself and others.”
Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitisis are keeping a lot of details under wraps. However, Horowitz did tease a few tidbits.
“The parallel you saw at the end of [the finale] was intentional, but the storytelling is going to be a piece of what we’ve done all along, but it’s going to be different. We’re not going to be telling the exact same story that we did Season 1 and just switching it to adult Henry.”
What do you think will happen in Once Upon A Time Season 7? Why doesn’t Henry remember his daughter? Is he choosing to simply not acknowledge that Lucy is his child?
