The Vampire Diaries Season 8 has been interesting so far. This Friday, the midseason finale will air. It is also the Season 8 Christmas special, but don’t expect a lot of warm, fuzzy moments by the fireplace. As seen in a promo clip, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will crash Caroline Forbes (Candice King) Christmas Eve dinner. Find out what the actress had to say, including information about “Steroline,” Damon, and Sybil.

TVD spoilers are ahead. If you don’t want to know any information about the midseason finale, then do not continue reading.

The synopsis for the episode titled “The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You” was released.

“Faced with the fallout from his interaction with Cade (guest star Wole Parks), Stefan (Paul Wesley) is determined to have one thing go right – Christmas Eve with Caroline. However, when Damon and Sybil crash their Christmas Eve dinner, which had been joined by Alaric (Matt Davis), Matt (Zach Roerig), and Peter (guest star Joel Gretsch), things quickly take a dark and twisted turn. Meanwhile, in a series of flashbacks to Stefan’s past, Cade’s attempt to entice him with his mysterious agenda leaves Stefan faced with an unimaginable decision.”

The extended promo for The Vampire Diaries midseason finale has been made available. With Stefan only having 24 hours before he must serve Cade aka the devil, he wants to make the time with Caroline count. However, Damon and Sybil have other plans. During a Christmas Eve dinner, the two crash Stefan and Caroline’s party. What exactly are their intentions? Candice King spoke about what to expect in an interview with TV Guide .

“They have their own plan. They have their own reasons. But of course, they’re not necessarily going to show all their cards at the beginning of the meal. So you’re going to see a lot of Sybil and Damon toying around with the other dinner guests, which are Matt and Matt’s father. So we’re going to learn a lot about Matt’s father and his history with Mystic Falls and why Sybil and Damon are so intrigued by him.”

Regarding the future of “ Steroline ,” King believes that Caroline will always take Stefan back. The only exception is if the things Cade makes him do are “really, really dark.” There is no telling what the devil will have Stefan do in The Vampire Diaries . However, he made Sybil torture and kill people in grotesque ways. Stefan has a long history of killing people since he is a vampire, he might have a special assignment for him. It is being teased that it connects somehow with Stefan’s past and he will be forced to make an unimaginable decision.

Last week on TVD , Caroline threatened to kill Damon Salvatore. However, would she really be able to do it? If she didn’t get the twins back, it would be understandable if Damon died. After all, there is no fury like a grieving and panicked mother. However, due to Stefan’s agreement with Cade, the twins are back with Alaric (Matt Davis). Some fans were surprised that Caroline would give up her children to Alaric. That has not changed. Both Alaric and Caroline want to protect the twins and the Christmas Eve dinner will be the last time she will see her daughters for a long time. As for being able to kill Damon Salvatore, Candice King gave a mixed response.

“I think Caroline will always have a soft spot in her heart for Damon, being that he’s the love of Elena’s life and he’s Stefan’s brother. And so although she hates him and what he’s done, she still cares enough to – you know, she hasn’t killed him yet! But we definitely will see moments of Caroline and Damon in this episode where she has to come to a realization of how does she feel about him? And how can she move forward knowing what he’s done and knowing what he means to the people that she cares about in her life.”

The Vampire Diaries actress teased to expect some moments between Caroline and Bonnie (Kat Graham). Also, the reason why Caroline lets Damon and Sybil in is because everything else is going wrong, so why not. As seen in a sneak peek clip, Caroline drinks straight from the bottle and is not coping with the situation very well.

What do you think is going to happen in the next episode of TVD ? How will Damon and Sybil crashing Caroline’s Christmas Eve party affect “Steroline?” How will The Vampire Diaries midseason finale end?
