Justin Bieber is still in Canada but, as promised, he was on hand today to launch the VEVO video for “melodies” the debut single from his teen discovery, Madison Beer.

The fresh-faced now 14-year-old was snapped up last year by Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun to Braun’s Schoolboy Records imprint after the singer — in a spectacular case of deja-vu — came across Beer singing covers on YouTube.

Bieber freaked out when he heard her performing a mash-up of Bruno Mars songs, later tweeting the link to his fans while describing her as a “future star.”

In August 2012, Braun tweeted about being in a studio with Beer. At the time, Benji Madden joined the exchange, writing ,

“in the studio with my New BFF @MadisonElleBeer this Kid can sing and she laughs at all my jokes. Winner.”

In the days preceding “Melodies” debut, Justin rallied his over 44 million Twitter followers to get behind Madison’s single, enticing them with news that he would cameo in the video.

“Everyone get ready for the video star[r]ing my artist @MadisonElleBeer and @ItsRyanButler and me at midnight #melodiesatmidnight #smash,” the 19-year-old tweeted yesterday.

Bieber’s childhood friend Ryan Butler, a budding filmmaker who is also seen in the clip, added:

A flurry of increasingly excited tweets from Madison earlier today signaled “Melodies” was about to land. Finally, Beer, who is on record as a huge Bieber and Rihanna fan, tweeted links to the video and iTunes which it hit today.

One message read:

At the beginning of the video over the song intro, Justin turns to Butler before proudly saying in a junior music mogul moment, “You hear that Ryan? That’s a smash. She’s gonna be a star, trust me.”

Butler replies , “I think I’m in love bro.”

A branding skit involving a note from Bieber (“Put these on [sic]”) and a pair of Beats headphones being wrapped in a purple bow (the “Baby” star’s favorite color) and sent to Beer, followed.

Then, a destined-to become-stuck-in-your-head, summer slice of teen pop is unleashed.

Speaking to MTV News, Madison revealed how big this moment is for her.

“I remember watching Justin’s first video,” the brunette recalled. “And now Justin is in my first video and it’s just weird that I’m even saying that.”

She added : “Justin has been really, really involved in this whole thing and that is just incredible to me because I’ve always been such a big fan of his and I’ve been to a bunch of his Believe Tour concerts and he’s just like a great performer. And to have someone like that behind me is just incredible.”

What do you think of “Melodies? Loathe, like, or absolutely love?
