Amanda Knox wants to see Meredith Kercher’s grave. The revelation was made during Knox’s first US TV interview since she returned home from four years in Italian prisons.

Knox, a former international student studying in Perugia, Italy, was accused of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher .

During the interview with USA Today , Amanda Knox issued the plea to Kercher’s family to allow her to see the grave of her former roommate. The now 25-year-old stated :

“I really want to go see her grave. And right now I don’t feel like I have the right to without her family’s permission. So that’s something that I want to work toward and get closure.”

The revelation also came on the eve of Knox’s book, Waiting to Be Heard , a book that Kercher’s family apparently doesn’t even want to read. Kercher’s sister, Stephanie released a statement on Tuesday evening about the book, saying, “We are not interested in this book just like so many others about the case and we will not read it.”

She added that, while Knox is free now, the Seattle native could be found guilty in a fresh trial that will start in Florence later this year. Kercher hinted:

“The Italian legal system still has an appeal procedure under way and so the case is returning to a new court hearing. The sentence can still be overturned.”

Along with visiting Kercher’s grave, Amanda Knox also wants to be “reconsidered as a person.” She explained in an interview with ABC News that the murder accusations meant “for all intents and purposes I was a murderer.” Knox added:

“I want the truth to come out. I’d like to be reconsidered as a person. I was in the courtroom when they were calling me a devil. It’s one thing to be called certain things in the media, but it’s another to be sitting in a courtroom, fighting for your life, while people are calling you a devil.”

It is not clear if Meredith Kercher’s family will respond to Amanda Knox’s request to visit her former roommate’s grave.
