Lifetime’s Movie: Deadly Daycare Synopsis

Rachel is a recently-divorced stay-at-home-mother to Mia, her four-year-old daughter. Being a loving mom to Mia and taking care of their beautiful home is the most important thing to Rachel. However, when Rachel receives a phone call from her ex-husband, Daniel, who tells her that he has to cut back on the money that he gives her monthly for Mia due to a strain in his financial situation, Rachel realizes that the only way to survive and maintain their lifestyle is to go back to work, which will mean that Mia has to go to daycare.

She had hoped that it would never come down to this. But now, Rachel has no choice but to carefully choose an appropriate daycare for her daughter. She finally finds a place that appears to have a kid-friendly and stimulating environment. Not only that, but the daycare seems to be safe and secure judging by all of the surveillance cameras that will allow Rachel to monitor Mia from any location.

When Rachel meets Mia’s daycare teacher, Gabby, she is convinced that she has seen her someplace before. Things take a turn when Mia begins to act in a strange manner, making Rachel feel as if something is happening at the daycare. To ease her suspicions, she monitors Mia constantly from the remote cameras. Suddenly, she remembers that Gabby was the woman in the other car the night that she had a tragic accident. What she doesn’t know is that Gabby already knows who she is and has been fuming for years since her husband was critically injured in the accident, which left him handicapped. Now, Gabby is set on getting the revenge and believes that running into Rachel again means that Mia was meant to be the child that she lost in the car wreck.

Deadly Daycare ‘s In Real Life

The subject of daycare centers is a topic that evokes a lot of feeling and emotion for most mothers, especially stay-at-home-moms who suddenly have to re-enter the workforce.

Most mothers want their child to know that they are leaving them in the care of someone skilled, loving, and caring.

This is not always the case. In a cursory look around the internet, one can find a number of tragic true stories of mothers whose worst nightmares came true after their child ended up dead at a daycare center. Most of the daycare center deaths were due to accidents or negligence. As for in-home nannies, CS Monitor reported that several parents had planted spy cameras or hidden cameras to confirm their suspicions of child abuse.

Though the Lifetime movie, Deadly Daycare doesn’t appear to be based on one true story, it certainly plays on the fears of the average mother.

According to Moho , Deadly Daycare, is produced by Jorva Productions and Feifer Worldwide. Filming took place in Los Angeles, California. Tune in this Saturday, July 22, at 9 p.m. on Lifetime Television.
