Tim Tebow could become a member of the LA KISS if he accepts the arena football team’s contract offer. However, it isn’t clear if he would actually be willing to play outside the NFL, as Tebow has already turned down a similar offer.
The former NFL quarterback was released from the Patriots last month, leaving him once again without the position he so desperately wants.
While the LA KISS wouldn’t be exactly what he wants, it could help him work toward being in the NFL again. USA Today reports that the deal was officially offered to Tebow on Monday and would be for three years.
The offer could also be worth “millions.” Tim Tebow is the first player the newly-formed team has targeted. KISS bassist Gene Simmons explained the offer in a press release, saying, “Acquiring Tebow would not only be a great investment for the team, but his exciting style of play would definitely send shockwaves through the league.”
The Los Angeles Times notes that the release also explained that the LA KISS would offer Tim Tebow “intense training and unwavered commitment” to the former Pats player.
It added that the team could also help him improve. Paul Stanley also made a statement about the offer of a contract to Tebow. He called the quarterback “one of the most recognized and respected athletes in sports.”
The team added that Tebow is “currently reviewing the offer.” However, it’s hard to tell whether he would accept it or not. After the news of his latest release from the NFL was announced, Tebow took to Twitter to thank the Patriots for the opportunity to play. He also stated that he would “remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.”
It could also be an honor that KISS would want Tebow as their first-ever recruit for their new football team. It will be interesting to see if Tim Tebow accepts the offer to be the quarterback of the LA KISS.
