Julian Assange: Saudi Arabia and Qatar Funding Clinton Foundation And Isis, Podesta Says ‘Shut Up’

In a revealing interview with documentary journalist John Pilger, Julian Assange has asserted that officials from Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been funding the Clinton Foundation and ISIS. John Pilger asked whether “this notorious jihadist group, called ISIL or ISIS, is created largely with money from people who are giving money to the Clinton Foundation,” to which Assange replied that yes, they were.

While disconcerting that money would be taken knowingly from countries who are supporting terrorist activity, emails from the account of John Podesta that have been published by WikiLeaks firmly point to this being the case.

Describing one email between Hillary Clinton and John Podesta as “the most significant email in the whole collection,” Julian Assange points to a message sent on August 17, 2014, where Hillary discusses putting pressure on Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

“We need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to Isil and other radical Sunni groups in the region.”

However, despite being fully aware of Saudi Arabia and Qatar’s terrorist support, records for the Clinton Foundation show that the government of Saudi Arabia has donated between $10 million to $25 million since the foundation’s inception in 1997.

Now the Clinton Foundation has just admitted to accepting $1 million from Qatar officials in 2011 which was ostensibly a gift for Bill Clinton’s 65th birthday. The US State Department was not notified of this large financial gift, however, which was a serious breach of the ethics agreement that Hillary Clinton signed in 2009 when she became Secretary of State. Under this agreement, Hillary was obliged to notify the State Department if either a regular foreign donor wished to increase their contributions or if a new foreign government pledged a new donation.

Because of Julian Assange’s WikiLeak’s revelation, Reuters contacted Brian Cookstra, the Clinton Foundation’s spokesman, who stated that the $1 million gift from wouldn’t be considered a “material increase” as far as contributions go and therefore shouldn’t count.

Indeed, a quick perusal of the foundation’s website exposes that Qatar has given between $1 million to $5 million to the Clinton Foundation over the course of many years, while the State Department claims it has no record of this.

Donald Trump has called on Hillary Clinton to return all of these donations from countries with “questionable” human rights records, while the Clinton Foundation last year stated that they didn’t actually have a full list of donors from their Clinton Health Access Initiative as the list hadn’t been published since 2010, despite Hillary’s assurances that this list would be published annually.

Because of the investigation of these emails that WikiLeaks has published, Julian Assange explains that Clinton and others can no longer claim that they aren’t aware of the connection between Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and ISIS, as evidenced by the email exchanges between Clinton and Podesta.

“All serious analysts know, and even the US government has agreed, that some Saudi figures have been supporting ISIS and funding ISIS, but the dodge has always been that it is some ‘rogue’ princes using their oil money to do whatever they like, but actually the government disapproves. But that email says that it is the government of Saudi Arabia, and the government of Qatar that have been funding ISIS.”

Assange also disclosed that under Clinton the largest arms deal in the world was made with Saudi Arabia which totaled $80 billion and that the total arms exports from the United States had doubled in size.

It’s not just arms deals that flourished under Clinton. In a leaked email with Jake Sullivan, Hillary’s deputy chief of staff, there was much jubilation over the sale of 80 Boeing F-15SA fighter jets to Saudi Arabia along with upgrades to their 70 F-15 aircraft and “munitions, spare parts, training, maintenance, and logistics.” In fact, one of Clinton’s chief aides described it as a “top priority” to provide a $60 billion transfer of fighter jets to Saudi Arabia.

With regard to the FBI’s investigation over the emails that have been leaked from Hillary’s private server that show money taken from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, John Podesta declared on NBC’s Meet the Press that it was “worrisome” and that the FBI should keep quiet.

“I think the men and women of the FBI are doing a tremendous job out here across the country. But the leakers should shut up.”

Considering the fact that the government of the United States purports to be fighting terrorism, is it wise or morally acceptable that the person who will probably be the next President is accepting monetary gifts from the same countries that are funding ISIS? Is it right that Hillary Clinton is selling these countries arms and military aircraft? Lastly, should Julian Assange really be persecuted and kept a political prisoner for providing information about Clinton that will allow voters to make an informed and educated decision?
