The low-cost iPhone Lite smartphone has leaked online in a new alleged photo that showcases the device’s form factor.
For months, we witnessed various potential photos claiming to be the new iPhone Lite. However, most of those photos focused on frames and component and not the entire device. Several other photos also showcases partially completed iPhone Lite devices.
The new photo features what appears to be completed cameras, headphones, and a Lightning port.
The back of the new device also appears to show the various certification markings that are included via the FCC .
The FCC has not yet revealed specifics about the Apple iPhone Lite. Typically, once a filing is handed over to the FCC, a large tech firm will ask for details to be kept private. The FCC only fully reveals product details when they are formally announced.
While we still can’t determine the device’s hardware from the leaked photo, the picture does appear to match closely with other leaked photos.
The low-cost iPhone Lite is expected to launch in September with an announcement being made alongside the iPhone 5S in August 2013.
If the photo really does feature the iPhone Lite, that means Apple is probably already mass producing or close to mass producing its first entry-level smartphone.
Apple iPhone sales have remained flat as the company attempts to sell customers on devices that don’t really innovate during each new release.
Do you think the low-cost iPhone Lite is going to be a smash hit or yet another misstep on Apple’s part?
