X-Men: Days of Future Past star Hugh Jackman says the film will blow audiences away.

The X-Men franchise has been around a long time. In 1963, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created one of the most iconic groups of characters Marvel Comics has ever seen with Ice-Man, Wolverine, Colossus, Cyclops, Professor Xavier, and Jean Grey. The series has evolved so much over the last 50 years that there are literally more characters than one could list without serious research.

The film series is starting to go the same way, as what was originally a small group of actors portraying the infamous mutant organization has expanded enough that you could probably forget half of them even after seeing them on the big screen. Of course, having that many characters going at once is probably a nightmare for director Bryan Singer, but he doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of it since taking it back from X-Men: The Last Stand helmsman Brett Ratner.

In fact, X-Men: Days of Future Past star Hugh Jackman has claimed that this may just be the best film in the series yet. Coming from the actor who has been in every single film in the series thus far, you can probably believe it.

Hugh Jackman described the onscreen reunion as a bit of a nostalgic shock as he saw Sir Patrick Stewart rolling up in his wheelchair and Sir Ian McKellan in his now-famous helmet in the end credit scene from The Wolverine . It had been literally three movies since he’d worked with either one for more than a brief cameo, but he says the film is in good hands.

In the video above, Hugh Jackman states:

“I know, having sat at Comic-Con on that panel with that extraordinary cast, I keep saying it’s like two movies in one, but with the size of it it’s really three in one. It really is going to blow people away because of the story. Bryan Singer, I think, is going to become the first director to make increasingly better movies in a franchise, I’m not sure if there’s anyone else that’s done it.”

We can probably trust X-Men: Days of Future Past star Hugh Jackman to know his way around the franchise by now and know when the film is going to blow our minds.
