Is Hillary-Michelle in 2016 even a remote possibility?
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Democrats are excited about the possibility of Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama teaming up to run for the Presidency as Hillary-Michelle in 2016 . The Clinton name holds its own in public opinion, as even Chelsea Clinton buying a $10.5 million apartment was enough to make the headlines.
Polling institute assistant director Peter Brown says the “former secretary of state Hillary Clinton would start a 2016 presidential campaign with enormous advantages.” But pollster John Zogby points out that “Hillary and Michelle are both very popular and accomplished, but this smacks of too much celebrity and is a tad too dynastic for American voters. An interesting reality show, yes. A ticket, no.”
Hillary Clinton is also doing very well in the political polls , able to beat any current Republican opponent. But Hillary Clinton has been suffering from various health issues and the job as Secretary of State has wearied her out, especially after all the bashing she received for her handling of the Benghazi incident. When asked about a 2016 presidential election campaign Hillary Clinton was very blunt:
“I’m not even posing those questions. I am really looking forward to stepping off the fast track that I’ve been on. I’ve been out of politics as Secretary of State. I don’t see myself getting back into politics.”
The question of Hillary-Michelle in 2016 has also been answered by Michelle Obama already. When Michelle appeared on “Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon” in February Obama said she had other ambitions other than a 2016 presidential run :
“You know, I have my eye actually on another job. And I hear that when Jay Leno retires that ‘The Tonight Show’ position is going to open and I’m thinking about putting my hat in the ring.”
Of course, that does not stop Democrats from being hopeful. Bumper stickers that read “2016-Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama,” and “Hillary-Michelle 2016 First First Lady Ticket For President” are growing in popularity. There’s also the fact that politicians will often change their minds when the time comes for a grab at the presidential office.
Do you think we will see a presidential run of Hillary Michelle in 2016?
