Bruno Mars To Rock Out Super Bowl Halftime Show In 2014

Bruno Mars is taking his Grammy-winning voice to the Super Bowl halftime show.

A source close to the performer says an agreement has already been reached for Mars’ February performance on one of the world’s most watched stages.

According to the source the official announcement will be made in New York’s Times Square on Sunday.

The Super Bowl will be played on February 2, 2014 at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Over the last several years the Super Bowl halftime show has been witnessed by more than 100 million viewers.

Last year singer Beyonce took to the halftime stage in New Orleans. The year prior the Black Eyed Peas were universally panned for their strange and off-key performance. Also performing in recent memory were The Who (2010) and E Street Band (2009).

Bringing the 27-year-old Bruno Mars to the stage is a smart move for Super Bowl promoters. His hits “Grenade,” “Just The Way Your Are,” and “Locked Out Of Heaven” are three of the biggest hits in recent memory. Mars continues to rack up radio listens and critical support along with millions of album sales.

The Super Bowl halftime show is often watched by non-football fans and brining a contemporary pop artist back into the mix once again makes a lot of sense. Bruno Mars has the distinction of attracting audiences of different ages and other demographics. Mars is also a capable performer who has wowed fans during other large-scale televised events.
