The first Xbox One TV spot focuses on almost everything but video games.
As anyone who has been keeping up on Xbox One news can tell you, Microsoft can’t seem to get much of anything right. Starting off, Microsoft gave us a plan to keep the Xbox One “always on,” and the backlash, which they’re still shocked about as previously reported by The Inquisitr , has sent Microsoft on a rollercoaster as gamers edge closer and closer to saying “forget this” and buying a PS4.
The Xbox One TV spot has given us flashbacks to the early days of E3 2013, where Microsoft couldn’t seem to shut up about the TV, sports, and Call of Duty: Ghosts (which ironically is also a PS4 launch title). It wasn’t until their followup at another event that they actually focused on games, showing us trailer after trailer.
Now the Xbox One TV spot has hit, and once again, Microsoft can’t seem to focus on what gamers want most, and that’s the video games.
The Xbox One TV spot, titled “The NFL on Xbox One” begins with the panning shot of a guy saying, “Xbox off.”
We can’t even tell if it worked because the camera pans to just shows a game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys, which goes to full screen when the camera pans around again and shows a crowd gathered on a couch. The camera can’t seem to sit still as it zooms in on the Xbox One interface showing us the TV menu.
Then we see a guy jump over the couch as another tells the Xbox One to start a Skype video call to his friend. The scene switches to his friend watching the game on his side.
Text on the screen announces Built-in Fantasy Football, Skype on your TV, and Personalized Highlights.
Has Microsoft forgotten that people are planning to buy the Xbox One for the video games? The Xbox One TV spot doesn’t seem to contradict the notion, as it focuses on everything but the video games.
