iPhone 5S Rumor: Preorders Starting June 20, Orders Shipping In July

An alleged sales sheet for the Apple iPhone 5S has surfaced from a Japanese telecom. The sales sheet claims that Apple will begin offering pre-orders on June 20 and will then launch in July.

The document claims that the iPhone 5S will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and offer the yet-to-be-announced iOS 7 OS. Recent rumors suggested that a major iOS update was not in the cards for the iPhone 5S.

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said the iPhone 5S and low-end iPhone will not be made available until sometime in the fall.

The leaked data sheet could be real, but some skeptics are noting that the iOS 7 isn’t expected to be seen by developers until one week before the pre-order time. The iOS 7 platform is expected to be first shown off at the Worldwide Developers’ Conference.

Speaking about the company’s new smartphones, CEO Tim Cook recently proclaimed:

“Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can’t wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014.”

It is quite possible that “new hardware” and “new software” is meant to focus on Apple devices we have not seen before. The Apple TV and Apple iWatch are both rumored devices for 2013 or early 2014. Tim Cook may be referring to those devices or new options.

Apple stock has been in decline, largely because the company has experienced a rather large lull in production releases.

The new Apple iPhone 5S is reported to have a speedier processor, faster graphics, and an improved camera. Apple is also believed to be toying with a new design factor and the much anticipated iOS 7. Recent rumors have pointed to fingerprint technology, which is not outlined in the allegedly leaked document.

Apple could unveil the iPhone 5S at the WWDC, but typically the company aims to release its professional products at that time.
