Kelly Clarkson joined country music superstars Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert to take the stage during the American Country Countdown Awards. Among the highlights was Kelly’s tribute to her stepmother-in-law Reba McEntire , reported Us Weekly .
The inaugural event was held in Nashville, Tennessee, attracting country music fans who sang along with their favorite musicians. Pregnant Carrie drew oohs and ahhs for her beauty in an electric blue gown, which she chose for a medley featuring “Before He Cheats” and “Blown Away.”
But when Kelly and Miranda stepped on the stage, the crowd really went wild at their mash-up of Reba’s greatest hits. Crowned the Nash Icon during the award ceremony, Reba teamed up with Lambert and Clarkson for the song “Fancy.”
All these strong women singing with her made Reba proud, as she beamed with her step-daughter Kelly.
In addition to McEntire’s award, the Female Vocalist of the Year honors went to Miranda Lambert. Luke Bryan won Male Vocalist of the Year, and Jason Aldean took home the Artist of the Year award at the event.
McEntire has made it clear that she’s ecstatic that her son married Clarkson, discussing it below with Katie Couric.
And now that she’s a grandma, Reba has been sharing photos of her granddaughter.
Proud new mom Kelly Clarkson also has been making time during her tour to show off photos of her new daughter, reported People magazine.
“Hangin’ backstage with River before my show tonight in Oklahoma!” posted Kelly recently.
The tiny girl also has offered her mommy advice in baby talk on Kelly’s set for “Wrapped In Red” and attended her first country music concert, which featured Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
Preparing to become a new mom as well is Carrie Underwood , as the Inquisitr reported. Carrie has been talkative about her pregnancy diet, emphasizing that although she’s abandoned her vegan lifestyle, she plans to return to it when the baby is born.
With pregnancy, I am definitely going more on the vegetarian side. As soon as I am not pregnant anymore, I will go back to being vegan.
And just to keep the unofficial country music baby family balanced between guys and gals, Carrie is having a baby boy. She and husband Mike Fisher are ecstatic about the news.
“I am so excited and so happy [to be having a boy],” said Carrie joyfully. “If we can make it all work out, the next one should be a girl!…We’re just so blessed.”
