In addition to Sean “P-Diddy” Combs showing up on WWE Raw tonight to promote his involvement in the WWE 2K17 soundtrack, SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan visited enemy territory for the first time since the WWE Draft. The GM feud between Bryan and Mick Foley continued to develop on Monday Night Raw this week.
One thing Foley and Bryan were meeting to discuss was the ongoing problem of Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar crossing brand lines. After Orton showed up on Monday Night Raw and hit Lesnar with his patented RKO Outta Nowhere, The Anomaly showed up on SmackDown Live to hit The Viper with his own signature move, the F-5. Lesnar isn’t scheduled to be on Raw again until next week, but the feud continues through their GM proxies and a nice video package put together by WWE.

Ever since returning from his suspension for violating the WWE Wellness Policy, Roman Reigns has been on a downward spiral. His match against Rusev for the WWE United States Championship was officially booked on Raw this week. Will this title shot be what Roman needs to get his career back on track?
WWE Monday Night Raw results
The following includes the results of all the matches and segments from WWE Raw on August 8, as well as an updated card for WWE SummerSlam 2016 . This episode of WWE Raw aired live from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Raw has won the “ratings war” over the last two weeks. What will Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and General Manager Mick Foley have in store for the WWE Universe tonight to keep that trend going?
Raw Pre-Show
Scott Stanford was joined by Booker T, Lita and Jerry Lawler for the 30-minute warm-up to Monday Night Raw on the WWE Network. They speculated as to what would happen between Foley and Bryan before reviewing Lesnar’s and Orton’s recent actions. They also dedicated some time to the Cruiserweight Classic tournament, which begins its second round this week. They also mentioned the recently-announced Tag Team Championship Match between The New Day (sans Big E) and The Club at SummerSlam 2016 . Neville was also interviewed about his injured ankle before being interrupted by the Dudley Boyz, which appears to be setting up a New Era vs. Attitude Era within the Raw brand.

Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Enzo And Big Cass
After the Last Week On Raw segment highlighted all of the major feuds from last week’s show, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady made their way to the ring. Of course, it wasn’t long before Chris Jericho showed up, bringing Kevin Owens along. It set up the first match of the night, Y2J vs. Enzo. With Owens and Big Cass at ringside, the match went through the show’s second commercial break, meaning WWE gave these four guys the first half-hour of Monday Night Raw . In the end, Owens interfered, allowing Jericho to hit the Codebreaker. Before he could get the pinfall, Big Cass hopped into the ring and hit Y2J in the face with a big boot, giving Jericho the win by disqualification. Afterwards, the match was made official for SummerSlam : Enzo and Big Cass vs. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.

Mick Foley Talks With The Boss
As the Raw GM was on the phone with Stephanie McMahon, he was interrupted by WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. She requested that her SummerSlam match against Charlotte be made a handicap match (pitting herself against both Charlotte and Dana Brooke) so that she’s not met with any outside interference. Foley counter-offered a match on tonight’s Raw between Banks and Brooke. If Banks wins, Brooke is banned from ringside at SummerSlam ; if Dana wins, it’s a handicap match. Sasha happily accepted these terms.

Braun Strowman Destroys Jorel Nelson
Strowman quickly beat another jobber for the third week in a row. In a pre-match interview, Nelson was literally speechless when Byron Saxton asked him why he would accept a match against Braun Strowman.

Sean Combs Talks With Foley And The New Day
Apparently, Puff Daddy was on Raw not just to promote his involvement in WWE 2K17 , but also to promote the upcoming Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour. After talking to General Manager Mick Foley, he was interrupted by Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, who took him away from Foley to make a phone call to Big E.

Darren Young Defeats Titus O’Neil
After O’Neil threatened Bob Backlund on last week’s Raw , he was attacked by his former tag team partner, Darren Young. Despite Backlund’s adamant cry that “cheaters never win,” he embraced Young after he used a handful of tights to get the victory over Titus.

Seth Rollins Calls Out Finn Bálor
The Architect had plenty to say about his SummerSlam opponent, none of which was surprising. After noting how very little Finn has technically accomplished in WWE so far, he rattled off accomplishment after accomplishment that Rollins has already achieved. While the recent NXT call-up didn’t make an appearance during this segment, Michael Cole reminded the WWE Universe that Monday Night Raw would show an in-depth look at the Demon later in the evening.

Cesaro Defeated Sheamus
Cesaro has made a big deal out of wanting to prove his value to the WWE by performing better than anyone else inside the ring. While he isn’t always recognized for it, Sheamus is a solid in-ring worker as well. The ending to this match happened after the ref was unable to make the count for a potential Sheamus win. As Sheamus confronted the semi-injured referee, Cesaro rolled him up for the pin. The WWE Universe can expect at least one more match between these two, possibly at SummerSlam .

Brock Lesnar Vs. Randy Orton: 15 Years In The Making
Since Brock Lesnar couldn’t be there in person, Raw aired a video package documenting the history between Lesnar and Randy Orton. While interviewing both men, they recounted the time they spent together in Ohio Valley Wrestling and the different directions their careers went once they became WWE champions. Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton will be covered by the mainstream media more than any other match at WWE SummerSlam 2016 .

Neville And Sin Cara Defeated The Dudley Boyz
As The Dudley Boyz continue their crusade against the New Era currently sweeping both the Raw and SmackDown rosters, they challenged Neville on the Pre-Show to find a tag team partner. Sin Cara was met with a mild response (at best) from the live crowd in Anaheim. Neville hit D-Von Dudley with the Red Arrow for the win. If Sin Cara and Neville continue to work as a tag team, it seems like WWE will try to emphasize the fact that they’re both high-flyers.

Roman Reigns Interrupts Rusev And Lana’s Wedding Celebration
After a slideshow that included photos from their real wedding, the crowd was chanting “boring!” at the newlyweds. WWE was doing everything they could to make the live audience hate listening to Rusev so that they would be more receptive to Roman Reigns. Despite Lana being covered in wedding cake, Rusev refused to accept Roman’s challenge for a United States Championship Match at SummerSlam . After a commercial break, Foley informed Rusev that the match would, indeed, happen on August 21.

Sasha Banks Defeated Dana Brooke
Charlotte was at ringside for the match, and accidentally slapped her friend Dana when she was going for Sasha, leading to her signature double knee-drop and a pinfall victory. With that win, Dana Brooke is banned from ringside when Sasha defends the WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte at WWE SummerSlam 2016 .

Finn Bálor Responds To Seth Rollins
Finn had a pre-recorded segment in which he went into detail about many of the stories and legends that inspired his name. At SummerSlam , the WWE Universe will see the first appearance of Finn Bálor as The Demon outside of NXT.
Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan, Rusev And Cesaro
As the two General Managers were discussing things in the ring, they were interrupted by Rusev, who was already upset that he had to defend the United States Championship against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam . Cesaro also came out, claiming that Foley needed to give him a title match if he was a man of his word. A match was booked on the spot, Rusev defending his title against Cesaro while Lana was still cleaning up backstage. Sheamus made his way to ringside during the match, and when the referee wasn’t looking, hit Cesaro with a Brogue Kick. Rusev picked up the pin, but was laid out post-match by Roman Reigns as Monday Night Raw went off the air.
